Grading Overview Information on SISD grading policies

Grading Every effort should be made to assist all students to achieve mastery of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Alternative instructional strategies must be utilized as appropriate.
Grading REDO s It shall be the student s responsibility to seek the opportunity to redo an assignment or test for which he/she received a failing grade within five school days upon which he/she received notification of a failing grade.
Grading REDO s The grade earned when redoing an assignment or test shall be averaged with the grade earned on the first attempt, and the averaged grade shall replace the failing grade.

STAAR Level III: Advanced Academic Performance Level II: Satisfactory Academic Performance Level I: Unsatisfactory Academic Performance* A student that receives a Level I Performance ranking has not received a passing score. *Additional Minimum Score to be applicable to Cumulative Score Requirements for Graduation
EOC Scoring Requirements STAAR Scoring: There is a Cumulative Score Requirement (in each subject area) that students much achieve to be eligible for graduation in the State of Texas.
Program Level II Cut Score Cumulative Score Requirement Recommended High School Plan 1875 for English 3500 for Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies 11250 for English 10500 for Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Additional Requirements Must meet or exceed the phase-in 1 minimum score for each assessment for the score to count toward the cumulative total 1875 on English III reading and writing 3500 or higher on Algebra II

Impact on Grades Commissioner of Education Michael L. Williams announced on November 30, 2012, that he is deferring implementation of the 15 percent grading requirement for the 2012-2013 school year. EOC scores will not impact grades in the 2012-2013 school year; however, they may in the 2013-14 school year.

Goals of B.O.O.S.T. q Offer your child in depth instruction of the categories that are tested q Opportunity for students to work with their teachers on increasing their scores q One on One instruction with lower class loads q HELP YOUR CHILD ACHIEVE A LEVEL II SCORE ON THE EXAM q Push them to achieve Level III score
