Please do not park along the curb. If there are no parking spots available, parents are asked to use the Park District Parking Lot. Please consider using the Circle Drive to pick up your student. We need to make sure the parking lot is safe for students. Spirit Wear: The last day to order Spirit Wear is TOMORROW. The PTO has put together some really cool designs. Don t miss out on an opportunity to show school spirit! Click here to shop online. No School: There will be no school all next week due to Parent-Teacher conferences and Fall Break. Students will not attend school from Monday, November 19th - Friday, November 23rd. Parent Teacher Conferences & Report Cards: Report Cards & Fall MAP scores will be sent home with students tomorrow. If you have not signed-up for a Parent-Teacher Conference, please contact the Erickson Office at 630-529-2223. Conferences are set for Monday, November 19th & Tuesday, November 20th. Empty Bowl Fundraiser: Ms. Fiedler and the Erickson Staff are auctioning off Empty Bowls and Mugs to raise funds for the Bloomingdale Food Pantry. The celebrity bowl auction will be available starting Monday, November 19th until Friday, November 30th. This is a silent auction and the highest bid will win the Empty Bowl/Mugs. Parents are also able to place bids during Parent-Teacher Conferences and online. Online auction link will be available via Miss Fiedler's twitter (@Miss_Fiedler) on Monday at 1pm. Bake Sale: The Character Counts! Committee is hosting a bake sale during parent teacher conferences. All proceeds from the bake sale will support Erickson Families in need of monetary support this holiday season. In order for the bake sale to be a success we will need baked good donations. Please consider dropping off a baked good item to Erickson by 12:30 pm on Monday, November 19th. Thank you in advance for your help and support! Mitten Tree: Donations for the mitten tree start November 26th and run until Friday, December 21st. The Mitten Tree will be set up in the front lobby. Please donate new mittens and hats.

In this time of gratitude, we want to give a special thanks to those who have coordinated our recent events! It is often a thankless job with much time dedicated to enhance the educational experience for our students, teachers and families! If you know them, please thank them! So, THANK YOU to... The PTO donated $5 from every registration to the Wounded Warrior Project. Natalie Wolff and Lorie Gironda for organizing the Thanksgiving Feast. One of our largest events, offered to not only our Erickson Family but to the community at large. This day is 100% funded by the PTO and donations from our families - feeding well over 600 people! It is a large undertaking to organize and facilitate this event. Donations are still being accepted. The Soaring Eagle is a student generated literary magazine written by students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Each issue contains stories, poems and artwork. Students have the option to submit writing samples for the Soaring Eagle to Dr. Niemiec four times a year. The magazine is under the direction of Ms. Albig and Dr. Niemiec.
