JEFFERSON LOCAL SCHOOLS Regular Meeting April 9, 2018 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL West Jefferson, Ohio High School, the Jefferson Local Board of Education met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present: Mr. Harper, Dr. Hiss, Mr. Doran, Mr. Quinn, Mrs. Adams, Superintendent, Mr. Mullett, and Treasurer, Mrs. Smith. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Second Graders from Ms. Marshall, Mrs. Price, and Mrs. Muschwick s class led in the Pledge of Allegiance. RECOGNITION OF VISITORS At this time the following visitors were welcomed to the meeting: Joan Scofield. PRESENTATIONS/ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS OSBA s Kelly Miller-Smith to Jerry Doran Mrs. Miller-Smith presented his 16 year mile service award. Curt Dennis, Director of Technology Services Mr. Dennis updated on the steps to be taken for the next three year technology plan. He also updated on the Chromebook One-To-One Program. Grades 6-8 and 10-11 will be able to keep Chromebooks over the summer. He is also testing a new filter program. Administrative Reports - Mrs. Barte, Mrs. Omen, and Mr. Bute updated on building information. Mr. Hiss updated on capital projects. ADOPTION OF AGENDA (#2018-55) Moved by Dr. Hiss and seconded by Mr. Quinn that the Board adopt the agenda with the following additions: 1. Item L-3d. from $500.00 to $1262.37 2. Delete Item 5 The vote: Yeas - Mrs. Adams, Mr. Harper, Dr. Hiss, Mr. Quinn. Nos Mr. Doran. Approved.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES (2018-56) Moved by Mrs. Adams and seconded by Mr. Quinn that the Board approve the Minutes of Regular Meeting, March 12, 2018; Special Meeting, March 19, 2018. The vote: Yeas - Mrs. Adams, Mr. Quinn, Dr., Mr. Harper, Mr. Doran. Approved. REPORT OF TREASURER MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORTS (2018-57) Moved by Dr. Hiss and seconded Mrs. Adams that the Board approve the Monthly Financial Reports as presented. The vote: Yeas - Dr. Hiss, Mr. Doran, Mr. Quinn, Mrs. Adams, Mr. Harper. Approved. AMENDED APPROPRIATIONS (2018-58) Moved by Dr. Hiss and seconded by Mrs. Adams that the Board approve the Amended Appropriations as follows: FUND AMOUNT 300 (District Support) + $20,000 The vote: Yeas - Mr. Quinn, Mr. Harper, Mrs. Adams, Mr. Doran, Dr. Hiss. Approved. EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACTS FOR 2018-2019 (2018-59) Moved by Mrs. Adams and seconded by Mr. Quinn that the Board approve the following Extended Service Contracts for the 2018-2019 school year: Joe Palazzo (Guidance) 10 days Amy Girard (Guidance) 10 days Kristen Kearns (Library) 6 days Melissa Jones (Library) 6 days Karla Fry (Computers) 2 days. The vote: Yeas - Mr. Harper, Mr. Doran, Mrs. Adams, Dr. Hiss, Mr. Quinn. Approved. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION There was no public participation.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT TEACHER SUBSTITUTES (2018-60) Moved by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mrs. Adams that the Board approve the following substitute teacher for the 2017-2018 school year: Beth Cosgrove The vote: Yeas - Dr. Hiss, Mrs. Adams, Mr. Quinn, Mr. Doran, Mr. Harper. Approved. CLASSIFIED SUBSTITUTES (2018-61) Moved by Mrs. Adams and seconded by Dr. Hiss that the Board approve the following classified substitutes for the 2017-2018 school year: Kelsi Dowden Rachel Riggle The vote: Yeas - Mr. Doran, Mr. Harper, Dr. Hiss, Mr. Quinn, Mrs. Adams. Approved. DONATIONS (2018-62) Moved by Dr. Hiss and seconded by Mr. Quinn that the Board accept the following donations. a) $50.00 to the West Jefferson Middle School VOICE from Debbie Reynard. b) $3600.00 to the Athletic Department from Holowicki Enterprises, Inc. c) $500.00 to the Class of 2020 from the Class of 2017.

d) $1262.37 to the Class of 2022 from the Class of 2017. The vote: Yeas - Mr. Quinn, Dr. Hiss, Mr. Harper, Mrs. Adams, Mr. Doran. Approved. EMPLOYMENT LOUANN VANWAGNER AIDE (2018-63) Moved by Mrs. Adams and seconded by Dr. Hiss that the Board approve the employment of LouAnn VanWagner on a one-year contract Classroom Aide effective August 20, 2018 for the 2018-2019 school year, 7 hrs. per day, step 0 of the adopted aide salary schedule. The vote: Yeas - Mrs. Adams, Mr. Quinn, Mr. Doran, Dr. Hiss, Mr. Harper. Approved. JANETTE HARDING AIDE (2018-64) Moved by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mrs. Adams that the Board approve the employment of Janette Harding on a one-year contract as Classroom Aide effective August 20, 2018 for the 2018-2019 school year, 7 hrs. per day, step 10 of the adopted aide salary schedule. The vote: Yeas - Mr. Doran, Dr. Hiss, Mrs. Adams, Mr. Harper, Mr. Quinn. Approved.
