St. Pius X Catholic School January, 2018 Dear Parents, I want to thank you for registering your child at St. Pius X Catholic School, and for your dedication to Catholic education. Attached is the registration packet for families. Please let us know if you have any questions or need help with this process. We are happy to be of assistance! God has sent many blessings in the current school year. Some highlights of our year are as follows: We have implemented and are actively using the 60 Chrome Books in our classrooms. We are also planning to implement and use our 50 Kindle Fire Kids Tablets after Christmas Break. We raised almost $30,000 towards the purchase of new tables and chairs, window, and playground equipment at our Annual Gala. We have implemented specific training for the ministries of altar serving and reading at Mass, so that students can find their calling in being active participants in Mass. We are Confirming students in grades 4-8 this year, and we have about 40 students who will receive this sacrament! We also have about 20 students who will receive the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation this year! Our class choirs have done an excellent job providing music for our Wednesday Mass! They have also done several Sunday Masses for our parish. We strive to make a Catholic education affordable for all families who desire one. To this end, we have joined with the Office of Catholic Schools, FACTS Tuition Management, and Seeds of Hope to use a tuition model that will allow all families to apply for financial assistance if they choose to do so! Please take a moment to read the attached letter regarding this Variable Tuition Model to answer any questions you may have. We are also happy to assist in the school office! Please return your completed registration packet as soon as possible, as open slots are filled on a first come, first served basis. Once you turn in the completed registration packet and pay the $250 registration fee, your child s spot will be held for the next school year. We are grateful for your support of our school! Thank you for entrusting your child s education to us! We are grateful for your support of our school! Thank you for entrusting your child s education to us! In Christ, Eileen Michalczyk Principal

Jan. 8, 2018 Dear St. Pius X Catholic School Parents/Guardians, We are so grateful that you choose to send your child(ren) to St. Pius X! We work very hard to ensure that your child receives the best education possible, while receiving strong moral and faith formation. It is our hope that in some way we help each of our students to get to Heaven someday, and that while here on Earth we help them to follow God s plan for their lives by putting to good use the gifts he has given them! At St. Pius X Catholic School, it is our goal to make this excellent Catholic education affordable for all who desire it. Therefore, we are joining the Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools in making this a reality for our families. We will take into consideration a family s ability to pay tuition for their child, as well as a family s need for assistance in paying the cost to educate their child. This is called the Variable Tuition Model. Under this tuition model, EVERY family will have the ability to apply for financial aid if it is needed to help pay for tuition. We know that often times families fall in the gap between qualifying for scholarships and their ability to pay the actual cost to educate their child. These are often our middle-income families who don t quite qualify for scholarships, but who have expenses that make meeting a tuition obligation difficult. We wanted to find a way to support all families who need help paying the cost to educate their child. We are partnering with FACTS Tuition Management and Seeds of Hope to make this goal a reality. The cost to educate a child at St. Pius X Catholic School is determined by taking our total expenses for the year (supplies, textbooks, salaries, electricity, gas, etc.), and dividing it by the total number of students enrolled in our K-8 classrooms. At St. Pius X, we work very hard to keep our expenses reasonable while still providing our students with the best environment possible for learning. Because we are budget conscious, we are able to keep the cost to educate a student in grades K-8 very reasonable. Our tuition for the 2018-19 school year is based on this cost to educate. Catholic families who are registered at one of our Catholic parishes receive financial support from our Catholic parishes, and they therefore have a lower tuition cost than non-affiliated or non-catholic families. Therefore, our tuition cost for the 2018-19 school year for a family who is registered at one of our Catholic churches will be $5777 for the first child in grades K-8. We will offer a $500 discount for each additional child enrolled. For our non-catholic families, or our Catholic families who are not registered at a parish, the 2018-19 tuition will be $6777 for the first child in grades K-8, with the same $500 discount for each additional child enrolled. Preschool or Pre-K tuition is not subsidized by the Catholic rate or other financial aid, and is therefore set at $6651 for one child.

As I mentioned above, EVERY family has the opportunity to apply for financial assistance through the Variable Tuition Model. We will have information about how to do this available by the end of January for all families. The process will be simple. You will apply online by supplying some basic financial information, and then we will meet with you to discuss the financial assistance you may receive. There is NO COST for a family to apply for financial assistance. The model will take into consideration a family s full financial picture, including medical expenses, tuition for other children, etc., when determining financial assistance. Families will, of course, have the opportunity to pay the regular tuition as well, instead of applying for the variable tuition model. It is up to you! It is our goal to help make a Catholic education affordable to all families who desire it! We are confident that this model will assist with that. We are happy to further discuss this with you. We offer a military discount to our active and retired military families of 10%. We also offer a one-time $1000 new family discount for families who transfer a student into our school in grades 1-8 from a non-archdiocesan school. Finally, you can count on the fact that we will work with every family individually to make sure this process works for you! We are committed to supporting you in the same way you support our school! Thank you for being part of our school community. In Christ, Eileen Michalczyk, Principal Father Jorge Aguera, Pastor

TUITION INFORMATION FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR We strive to keep tuition affordable for all of our St. Pius X Catholic School families. Below is a chart outlining tuition for the 2018-19 school year. Through the variable tuition model (financial aid) we anticipate helping our current families to pay about the same in tuition next year as they are paying for this year! The tuition below is a general guideline prior to financial aid consideration. The Catholic Family rate is for families who are registered with one of the Catholic parishes in the Archdiocese of Denver, and who attend Mass, contribute regularly to the financial situation of the parish, and who actively participate in parish ministries or activities. Qualification for the Catholic tuition rate is determined by the pastor of the parish. All Catholic families must provide a Parish Affiliation form signed by their pastor. This includes St. Pius X parishioners. Any Catholic family determined at any time NOT to be a parish member in good standing hereby agrees to have this contract retroactively adjusted to reflect unaffiliated/non-catholic rates and will forfeit any financial assistance that might have been granted. Families receiving the Catholic Affiliated Rate reflect their commitment and involvement in carrying out the mission of their individual Catholic parish. Catholic Rates will not be in effect until the Parish Affiliation form has been submitted to the school office. To receive the Catholic Affiliated rate, we must have the attached Parish Affiliation form in the school office no later than September 1, 2018. We will not be able to honor the Catholic rate after this date. Please note there are two Affiliation forms attached one for parishes other than St. Pius, and the other is for St. Pius parishioners. Tuition for students in grades K-8 for 2018-2019 is as follows: Catholic Parish-Affiliated Families Non-Catholic or Catholic Non-Affiliated Families First child - $5777 First child - $6777 Second child - $5277 Second child - $6277 Third child - $4777 Third child - $5777 Fourth child - $4277 Fourth child - $5277 *For each additional child there will be a $500 discount for tuition. Pre-School Rate $6,651.00 = $665.10/month August through May. (Catholic affiliation tuition rate does not apply to Pre-School/Pre-Kindergarten students). Tuition payments can be made in one full payment by August 1 st, 2018, or in ten monthly payments from August, 2018-May, 2019. Family Fees: Non-refundable family deposit of $300 is due at the time of registration. This fee covers your registration fee for the school ($250), and the FACTS Tuition Management set-up fee ($50). The $250 portion of the registration fee will come off your total tuition cost. All families must be set-up with an account through FACTS Tuition Management because we will also be billing for extended day, lunches, etc. through this organization. This year all family deposits will be paid through Sycamore. As soon as we receive this completed registration packet (your Parish Affiliation form may be turned in later) we will charge your Sycamore account for the $300 deposit. YOUR REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE COMPLETE UNTIL THE DEPOSIT IS PAID IN FULL. Only when the full deposit is paid and the paperwork is complete will your child s spot be guaranteed. Additional information: 1. St. Pius is honored to provide military families a discount. A 10% discount is available for active duty, retired, and disabled veterans. Families must show proof of eligibility. 2. New families (grades 1-8) transferring from a school other than an Archdiocese of Denver Catholic school will be provided a one-time $1,000 discount*. 3.
