"Barlow Theater Productions will present "The Wiz" a 70's funk rendition of the story of Dorothy, her red shoes, and her dog Toto on November 17-19 at the Joel Barlow High School Auditorium. There is a Saturday matinee which is great for younger theatre goers! Times of performances and ticket order form is attached.

www.reddingelementaryps.org November 15, 2011 Page Two Keyboarding Classes and Type to Learn Keyboarding Classes for students in Grade 4: Be sure to check Tuesday s Newsday next week for information regarding sign up for a limited number of spots in upcoming keyboarding classes in the mornings (7:40 to 8:10 am) and afternoons (2:55 to 3:25 pm) on Tuesdays. We will be starting the classes very soon. Type To Learn for students in Grades 2 to 4: Type to Learn is the keyboarding program that we use at RES. Since it is a web-based program we are able to use it outside of RES as well. Last year all students currently in Grades 3 and 4 should have received letters containing details on how to use this program at home. Similar letters will be sent out for students currently in 2 nd Grade and for those students who are new to RES in this academic year. We hope that you are enjoying the program. The Redding League of Women Voters is showing the award winning documentary Waiting for Superman at the Mark Twain Library on Wednesday, November 16, at 7 p.m. The film analyzes the failures of American education by following five students through the system, each hoping to be selected in a lottery for acceptance into a charter school. The often heartbreaking stories of their struggles won director Davis Guggenheim the Directors' Guild of America's award for best director of a documentary film. The evening begins at 7 pm. The film, which lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. There will be popcorn, candy and beverages. Admission is free; reservations requested.
