CAREER VISION: (2017 2018) As a part of VNRVJIET s differentiators, career vision sessions are planned for the first year students. The second, third and fourth year students on behalf of IEI, one hour session will be conducted thrice a week so as to guide first year students in various aspects such as projects to take up, future after B.Tech. and also regarding various facilities provided by VNRVJIET for student s growth. These sessions are also fun when the students are exposed to technical quiz and technical debates. As a result juniors get familiar to their seniors thus acquiring enough support when needed.
2. ANTI DRUG CAMPAIGN: (JULY 2017) With the increase in drug dealers and users in Hyderabad, especially with the news that youth are more involved into drugs, On behalf of VNRVJIET we, the members of IEI student chapter, took a step forward and participated in the anti drug campaign. We chose a busy road at the Malaysian township, Kukatpally. We got divided into 2 teams, stood on both sides of the road and hold placards. We shouted out slogans against youth spoiling their lives by getting high on drugs. 3. EnginEEr: (SEPTEMBER 2017) EnginEEr is an event organized by IEI in association with the department of EEE. We had a guest lecture by Dr. J.V chowdary garu for the II and III B.Tech. students. He shared his valuable experience in the area of directed laser energy weapon. We were glad to have a guest lecture by Dr. K. Balraju garu for the I B.Tech. students. Balraju garu was very motivational as he could motivate almost all the students into developing projects which could benefit the rural areas. I B. Tech. students were given a topic
of Indian Engineers and those of II and III B. Tech were given a topic of Bio Engineering for poster presentations. The winners were honored with informative and useful prizes. 4. SEMINAR ON HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION LINES: (DECEMBER 2017) With the support from college management and IEI all the 3 rd year students of EEE attended a seminar on High Voltage Transmission Llines at the IEI Telangana state centre, Khairtabad, Hyderabad. We gained a vast knowledge on Integration of Renewable Energy and Balancing Power on the occasion of PadmaShri Dr. Narla Tata Rao s 100 th birth anniversary. We had a great seminar with the support of which we could take up several practical projects.
5. REPUBLIC DAY PARADE: (JANUARY 2018) Over a hundred students from all the student chapters stepped up for celebrating 69 th REPUBLIC DAY with their respective themes to salute our nation. Women trafficking was taken up by our student chapter IEI under the theme social evils to educate society in order to end this modern day slavery. The basic motto behind selecting this theme is Education is what makes people aware of the social evils in the world like women trafficking. All the members of IEI actively participated in the event by taking part in making placards which reflected in making the event success. Women trafficking mainly deals with sexual exploitation and labour exploitation of its victims. We educated people about this biggest social evil by chanting slogans and by displaying placards.
6. CONVERGENCE: (FEBRUARY 2018) Convergence is a Technical Symposia at VNRVJIET, where students are given an opportunity to build their technical skills either by attending workshops or events. From the student chapter IEI we had students in the organizing team as well as in the events. Few students organized events while the other were busy participating in the events and workshops held.
7. IEEPS: (MARCH 2018) Technical symposium, IEEPS & ACT-18 (International Conference on Innovations in Electrical, Electronics, Power, Smart Grids and Advanced Computing Technologies) was hosted by EEE Department, VNRVJIET. The main motive of this conference is to provide a forum for the researchers to present their state of art work, research findings and outcomes. Besides research papers, IEEPS also had papers particularly relating to industry as well as those highlighting applied problems for which appropriate solutions are being currently searched.
8. OPEN HOUSE: (March 2018) Open House is a project expo at VNRVJIET. This year we had almost 70 projects from the department of EEE alone. We also had student volunteers in the organizing team. We were successful in presenting innovative ideas and project prototypes thus receiving appreciation from Dr. D.N Rao garu. We expect several more ideas to come up next year along with more merits and funding projects. Projects include areas such as power systems, power electronics, Arduino etc
