Page 2 of 7 Phyllis Picou We want to express our "Best Wishes" to Phyllis Picou who is retiring today, December 7th, with the City after 28 years of dedicated service. She joined the City in 1979 as Data Input Operator I and is now retiring as the Utility Billing & Collections Manager. She was Employee of the Year in 1997. Phyllis was a great team player, as she was selected to be on the City Charter Review Commission in 2000, volunteered for the City cleanup days and was also a star player on the City's volleyball team. On behalf of the entire Finance Department, Deborah Daigle, Finance Director, stated "Phyllis will be greatly missed along with her years of knowledge and experience. She was truly an asset to the City and won't be forgotten." RECREATION Christmas & New Year Holiday Camp Thibodaux Recreation Department is offering a Christmas & New Year Holiday Camp. The dates for the camp are Dec. 26, 27 and 28, 2007 and Jan. 2,3,and 4, 2008 from 9:00a.m. until 3:00pm. Contact the Recreation Department for more information on the camp at 985-446- 7235. Click for tips THIBODAUX MAIN STREET 2007 THIBODAUX MAIN STREET ORNAMENT This is Thibodaux Main Street,Inc. 2nd Annual Christmas Ornament to raise funds to continue the efforts of beautifying and preservation of Thibodaux's Downtown Area. Each year the ornament features a historical building located in the City of Thibodaux. The 2007 Christmas Ornament displays the Lafourche Parish Court House. The ornaments are available for purchase at Farmer's Market, The New Post,LTD., Emily's Boutique, Queeny's Boutique, Rush Boutique, Sugar Boutique and Thibodaux Chamber for $10.00 or you can also contact Dana Clement at 985-448- 5852. FALL FARMER'S MARKET Farmer's Market will only be open for the remaining of December, so don't miss out as time it ticking. Santa Claus Mark this important date on your calendar Monday, December 17th and Tuesday, December 18th from 6:00pm- 8:00pm to bring the kids to see Santa Claus. This will be a chance for them to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. He will be at Bubba's Poboy located at 212 E. Bayou Rd. Adopt a Grandparent for Christmas Businesses and individuals in the community can adopt a grandparent for Christmas for $25.00. Your sponsorship will cover the fee for a special gift basket for one of the residents, and enable them to have a Merry Christmas. The goal is to have 150 residents adopted.
