I hope it was restful. We have two weeks before we get out for Christmas break, please remind your students to remain focused and to finish the next two weeks like they started the school year. We have been preparing for our school accreditation since last May. We are accredited every seven years by Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) our accreditation will take place February 28- March 2, 2015. A committee of five to six members will be on campus interviewing Father, teachers, myself, and possibly talking to students about our school. We have prepared a self-study and have gathered other documents for the committee to view. The committee will use it to confirm that we are doing what is stated in the self-study. We will provide more information as it gets closer to the actual date. Have a Great Weekend! Mrs. Scott says Hello to All, I hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Just a few more weeks and our first semester will be coming to an end. Continue to work with your children on keeping up with their homework, studies and their planner. School is still in session and learning is happening! I am excited to announce that Mrs. Merkel is beginning a Rosary Making Club for our students! It will begin in January. Any students interested should contact Mrs. Merkel. This club will focus on making rosaries for mission trips. In addition, each rosary made will come with a card and a blessing from Father. How awesome is it that children all over the world will be able to have their own rosary while learning about the Catholic Faith and Jesus! The club will be working in conjunction with Bishop Lynch and SPX Mission groups. Ms. Wahlstrom says Hello parents, as we get into the Christmas season and many of you will be shopping, I thought that I would suggest gift ideas for your children. This week I will give you part one of a two part series of some of the hottest technology gifts on the market right now. Happy Shopping... For younger children: Fisher-Price Smart Toy Bear or Monkey Some call it cute, some call it creepy, but whatever you call it interactive toys are the big new thing. This plush, huggable animal talks to kids and comes with activity cards to encourage play and help with everyday activities such as brushing teeth and going to bed. For Tweens: Google Cardboard Google's self-driving car may be many years away, but Cardboard -- a fold-it-yourself virtual-reality viewer -- can take you anywhere you want to go. Just slip your Android smartphone or iphone inside, download the free Google Cardboard app, tap the device's magnetic button, and "fly" around Google Earth, take a walking tour of Versailles, or examine cultural artifacts close-up. Check your app store for more you-are-there games, tours, and activities. For Teens: Guitar Hero Live and Rock Band 4 Updated versions of these two favorite console games can be a great way to goof around with teens. And music lovers will enjoy new features that make gameplay more realistic and interactive. But these games aren't easy, so younger kids might get frustrated. 3
