Friday 15th June Mrs McLoughlan leaves us today, Friday 15 th June, to begin a new post as a Service Manager for Stirling Council. Mrs Mcloughlan has supported many young people and their families over the years at our school. We would like to thank her for all her work and wish her well in her new post. On Monday 18 th June Mr Hamilton will start as Depute Head Teacher and head of Stewart House. Career ready Career ready pupils should remember to hand their permission slip to Miss Montgomery. Pupil voice - communication Can all members of the Communication Pupil voice group please meet in room 131 P2. Open University YASS Students Please will all OU Applicants return their completed application forms to Dr McDonald as soon as possible. If you need to pick one up please come up to Room 213 during lunch time today. The sooner these applications can be sent off the better. Project MELT Glacier retreat and climate change has been on the news this week. The work we are doing is helping with this research. Another analysis session will take place on Friday after school in Rm 141. Feel free to come along to make a difference. Hockey Club Can all pupils who attend Hockey Club meet in the Dance Studio at break today. Sports Awards See any member of the PE Department for your free ticket to the Sports Awards on Monday. Mr Durno will be in the Hub at break and lunch with tickets. Remember that nominations for players / performers of the year can still be made through Mr Durno or Marco. Learner participation conference (pupil voice) Please can all young people involved in the pupil voice groups go to the LRC on Monday (18 June) after they have registered. This is an opportunity to increase your voice in Stirling High. The conference will last from P1 until P4. If you were not involved in pupil voice previously, but would like to be, please speak with Mr Hamilton before Friday. S5s on Work Experience next week can still be involved at a later date. Women in Engineering with Network Rail To mark International Women in Engineering Day this month, Network Rail are planning to host a workshop at their site office near Kerse Road bridge on Thursday 21st June, from 10am to 12.30pm and would like to invite three, 4 th /5 th female students from Stirling High School to attend, who perhaps have an interest in STEM subjects. If you are interested in this event there is a meeting in Rm 109 on Friday 15th at Interval.

Thursday 21st June 3 pm To complete the Expedition section of the Award your group must give a presentation. All of these presentations will be done during this meeting. S1-S3 Water Polo Championships There is a meeting today at break in the PE classroom for any S2-S4 pupil interested in competing in a Water Polo Tournament on Friday. Sports Awards The Sports Awards have been rearranged for Monday 18th June from 3.40-5pm. We hope to see all of those who take part in an in-school sporting club there! S3 Dance Workshop A reminder all pupils who signed up for the Dance workshop should go to the Dance studio after registering in PSE. Could all pupils get changed at break time. Ramadan Any pupil requiring additional support during Ramadan should speak to Ms Allen. For all pupils On Monday 11 th and Tuesday 12 th June the school is being visited by our education partners to look at the quality of learning and teaching and other aspects of our school. Visitors will be attending various classes to observe learning and teaching and to talk with pupils. Some pupils will be involved in discussion groups with our visitors. All pupils are asked to be as helpful and respectful towards our visitors as they are to all staff. Digital/Coding champions Can all digital and coding (raspberry pi) members please see Mr Hamilton at break in room 132. Food Festival Unfortunately we have had to cancel our planned Community Partnership Food Festival for Sat 16 th June. We are now focussing our efforts towards making our Winter Fete on 1 st December a craft and food event. Choir Trip 2018 All pupils attending this trip should join our new 'Choir Trip 2018' Google Classroom! The class code is 46maaw. S5/S6 volunteers - Kids' Day Out Anyone wishing to volunteer to help out at the Kids' Day Out on Wednesday 13th June, 9.30-2pm at Bridgehaugh, should give their name to Miss Allen. The event is for kids with additional support needs. Modern Apprentice - Active Stirling Active Stirling are looking for several modern apprentices, including Sports Coaching and Business & Admin. Summer Concert Tickets Tickets for the summer concert can be collected from the school office (two tickets per family) these are free and any spare tickets will be released a couple of days before the concert. Litter out of school Please remember that when you are out of school at lunchtimes that there are many bins available for your use. Please do not drop your letter in the local community and use the bins provided. We work very closely with the community and are very proud of the work our Eco club has done over the past 15 years. We need everyone to play their part in ensuring that our high standards are maintained. 16+ John Clark Motor group are looking for 2 Vehicle Technician Apprentices.
