CALL TO ORDER The Board of Education of the Canfield Local School District, Mahoning County, Ohio met in regular session this date at 6:00 p.m. with the following members present: Mr. Phil Bova, President Mr. Lee Frey Mrs. Nancy Lacich Mr. Barry Tancer MINUTES Mr. Frey made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Lacich, to waive the reading of the minutes of the May 20, 2015, regular meeting and approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Frey-yes Mrs. Lacich-yes Mr. Tancer-yes Mr. Bova-yes Mr. Olson arrived at 6:01 p.m. FINANCIAL REPORTS The Treasurer s financial reports for the month ending May 31, 2015, were reviewed and placed on file for audit. TREASURER S REPORTS Mr. Frey made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Lacich, to approve the check payment register for the month ending May 31, 2015, to approve purchases as approved by the Superintendent, certified by the Treasurer, and detailed in the Purchase Order Register, and to approve investments as detailed in the investment report. SPECIAL RECOGNITION Mr. Tancer presented Resolutions 150-2015 through 163-2015 and Resolutions 167-2015 and 168-2015 honoring the following individuals/teams: CHS Boys Tennis Team Timmy Cianciola Bobby Long 109

RESIGNATION CLASSIFIED Mr. Geordan presented a letter of resignation from the following individual and recommended it be accepted: Jane Gomori CVMS Secretary for the purpose of retirement effective July 1, 2015 Mr. Tancer made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Lacich, to accept the above resignation as LICENSED STAFF HIRING Mr. Geordan recommended the board hire the following individual: Michael Ruark CHS English/Language Arts Teacher at $53,605 effective 2015-16 school year Mr. Frey made a motion, seconded by Mr. Olson, to hire the above individual as CLASSIFIED CONTRACT RENEWAL Mr. Geordan recommended the following classified staff member be granted a two-year contract effective July 1, 2015. Thomas Timlin CHC Afternoon Custodian 3.5 hours per day Mr. Olson made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Lacich, to grant the above individual a twoyear contract effective July 1, 2015, as 111

RENEWAL OF $890,000 EMERGENCY LEVY Mr. Frey made a motion, seconded by Mr. Olson, to adopt Resolution 166-2015 to submit a renewal of the $890,000 emergency levy. TEMPORARY APPROPRIATION MEASURE CERTIFICATE Mr. Tancer made a motion, seconded by Mr. Frey, to adopt a temporary appropriation measure certificate in the amount of $10,000,000 for fiscal year 2016. 116

MAHONING COUNTY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER CONTRACT Mr. Tancer made a motion, seconded by Mr. Frey, to approve the Mahoning County Educational Service Center contract in the amount of $941,823.97 for FY16. GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATIONS Mr. Geordan presented the following grant applications for fiscal year 2016 and recommended they be approved: Title II-A $ 38,111.62 IDEA 486,054.45 Title I 251,243.25 Mr. Frey made a motion, seconded by Mr. Olson, to approve the applications for participation in the above programs as SUPERINTENDENT S REPORT Mr. Geordan discussed start times and bus routes, online requisitions, copier contract, athletics, and the auditorium sound system. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mr. Frey made a motion at 7:26 p.m., seconded by Mrs. Lacich, to adjourn to executive session to consider the employment of a public employee. RECONVENE Mr. Frey made a motion at 8:29 p.m., seconded by Mr. Tancer, to reconvene. 117
