Referees Interested in becoming a referee with the Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis? There is no experience necessary and all referees will be provided with training. Volleyball Coaches Interested in sharing your passion for Volleyball? We are looking for coaches for our fall season for 4 th - 8 th grade. Our 7 th and 8 th grade teams will play games on Mondays and Wednesdays and our 4 th,5 th and 6 th grade teams will play games on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Practices are scheduled by the coaches beginning after Labor Day. We are in need of volunteers with experience in scorekeeping for our various games and tournaments. If you would like to become a volunteer please fill out an application or email bmills@bgccorvallis.org Cheerleading Coaches We have an exciting K-8 th cheer program that offers a fun environment to teach age-appropriate cheer skills. Teams will cheer on and support athletic teams at sporting events (football in fall and basketball in the winter). Coaches with tumbling and cheer experience preferred! Season runs Fall and Winter
NFL Flag Football Coaches This program is for boys & girls in 3rd-12 th grade. The season runs from September to October for boys and girls in 3 rd -12 th grade. It is a five on five league which focuses on passing and is designed to help kids develop football related skills without blocking or contact. Teams play on a shorter field with a set of rules designed by the national football league and teams will be formed by grade divisions: 3/4 th, 5/6 th, 7/8 th, and 9/12 th. Practices will take place weekdays at Linus-Pauling middle school, Cheldelin middle school and at Williams field with the days and times set by our volunteer coaches. Season begins early September Basketball Coaches (Assistant and Head) The Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis has one of the best basketball programs for boys and girls grades K- 8 th. Come and inspire young children to play as a team, be active and to have fun while participating in an exciting sport! Season begins November Clubhouse Club Plus Volunteer Positively interact with K-1 st grade youth by reading stories to individuals and small groups, playing fun and interactive games, and assisting staff and children with activities. Between 2:45pm - 6:00pm Tutor/ Learning Center Volunteer Help elementary students feel academically successful by providing needed homework help and support for our academic enrichment programs! General weekly schedule includes: homework help from 3:00pm-4:00pm Monday-Thursday and an academic enrichment program from 4:30-5:30pm. Fridays are used as a planning or celebration day. Help teenage youth with community service, career development, homework and more! Tutor Between 3:00 pm 6:00 pm Help middle school and/or high school students understand and complete homework in many subjects, including reading, writing, math and science. Ideal tutors will be willing to build rapport with teens in addition to providing academic support. Current high school tutor requests: SAT/ACT, Math (Algebra 1-Calculus), Science (General, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental), Reading Comprehension, and Foreign Languages (Spanish, French, German) Between 3:00 pm 6:00 pm Mentor Boys 2 Men Be a mentor to young men in our high school program that promotes and teaches responsibility. Beginning on Friday evenings from 6:00-9:00pm our teen nights are opportunities for teens to hang out in a safe, inclusive, supervised atmosphere. Volunteers will rotate between helping chaperone the dance, supervising gym games, and hanging out in the games room. This is a dynamic volunteer opportunity for energetic groups and individuals. General Volunteer K-5th Not interested in being a tutor? Want to still hang out with elementary school kids? Become a general volunteer and you can pick what age group you would feel most comfortable working with. This is a great way to build strong peer relationships with elementary students and to have fun! Our LEC sites are bilingual schools but Spanish is not required! ASAP Monday-Thursday anytime between 3:00pm-6:00pm STARS STARS Volunteer Become an important part of our after school program that blends physical activity, homework support, and creative enrichment activities for students in six of our Corvallis elementary schools (Adams, Hoover, Jefferson, Mt. View, and Wilson). STARS helps students (and their families) by providing an important after school program that offers a safe and engaging environment with staff who are adept at fostering both the program and meaningful connections with kids.
