2 Mutivariate Data Anaysis INTRODUCTION Mutivariate statistics invoves observation and anaysis of more than one statistica outcome variabe at a time. In design and anaysis, the technique is used to perform studies across mutipe dimensions whie taking into account the effects of a variabes on the responses of interest. Researchers use mutivariate procedures when they are interested in studying more than one outcome simutaneousy (aso known as the dependent or phenomenon of interest), more than one impacting variabe (aso known as an independent or predictor), or both. This type of anaysis is desirabe because researchers often hypothesize that a given outcome of interest is infuenced by more than one variabe. There are many statistica techniques for conducting mutivariate anaysis, and the most appropriate technique for a given study varies with the type of study and the key research questions. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this FDP is to provide facuty and research schoars with the toos to gain a better understanding of the avaiabe techniques for data anaysis with a focus on mutivariate techniques. This program aso aims to provide hands-on training on SPSS, AMOS software for anayzing the data and interpreting outcomes of various anayses. She has organized workshops on Decision Sciences and its management appications ike business research methods, advanced exce techniques for managers of pubic and private sector organizations. She has aso conducted MDPs on topics ike appications of quaitative techniques in competence mapping, simuation techniques and assignment probems.
