1 RECREATION FACILITIES COORDINATOR $19.95 Hourly - $41, ANNUAL BASE Closing: Open Until Filled The purpose of the class is to coordinator maintenance and operation of City recreational facilities. The class is responsible for maintenance, assisting public, and records. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed; develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Maintains recreational facility grounds including mowing, weeding, trimming, and other grounds maintenance activities. Maintains building, structures, and facilities including cleaning, making minor repairs; inspects facilities and schedules any needed major repairs. Maintains athletic fields and facilities including cleaning, marking, and making ready for athletic events. 1 / 6

2 Maintains athletic or maintenance equipment; monitors condition of equipment and recommends replacements as necessary. - Attends in-service training and technical or professional classes, seminars, or conferences to improve technical or professional skills. - Gathers and maintains information to support periodic forms, or logs documenting maintenance activities and events. Performs routine office tasks, such as typing, filing, faxing, phoning, and copying. PEOPLE INVOLVEMENT: Speaks or signals to people to convey or exchange information; gives instructions to helpers or assistants. INVOLVEMENT WITH THINGS: Leads, operates or repairs machinery or equipment that require moderate training and 2 / 6

3 experience such as swimming pool equipment, grounds maintenance equipment, vehicles, or other such equipment. COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS REASONING REQUIREMENTS: Performs skilled work involving rules/systems but solves problems almost constantly. MATHEMATICAL REQUIREMENTS: Performs addition and subtraction, multiplication and division and/or calculates ratios, rates and percents. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Reads technical instructions, procedures manuals, and charts to solve practical problems; composes routine and specialized reports, forms, and business letters; speaks compound sentences using normal grammar and word form. MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Performs clerical and technical tasks requiring a wide range of procedures and requiring intensive understanding of a restricted field or complete familiarity with the functions of a unit or small division of an operating agency; requires normal attention with short periods of concentration for accurate results or occasional exposure to unusual pressure. 3 / 6

4 VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE PREPARATION VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL PREPARATION: Requires High School Diploma or GED and formal training, special courses, or self-education equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in physical education, recreation, or a closely related field. SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires Valid State Driver License, CPR Certificate Chemical License EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires over two years and up to and including four years. 4 / 6
