1 Report on Swachhta Pakhwada at JNV DIMAPUR (September 1-15, 2017) Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalay Dimapur observed Swachhta Pakhwada from 1 st to 15 th September During this period, JNV Dimpur campus was vibrant with various activities and events related to Sanitation. Shri Kholi Dikho, Principal, JNV Dimapur, inspired the students to ensure cleanliness around them and in the vidyalaya and initiated many programmes to sensitize all staff and students to keep the surroundings clean. Many activities were conceptualized and carried out by staff and students in order to spread the message of Swachh Bharat Mission. The Principal, JNV Dimapur interacted with the students and motivated them by sharing immediately implementable ideas pertaining to Swachh Bharat. 2 1. On 1 st September 2017, a lecture was organized by Mrs Anjana (TGT English) on the theme Disposal of waste materials as a part of SWACHHTA PAKHWADA. Mrs Anjana (TGT English) suggested converting garbage to gold by bringing behavioral change in the life and enlightened the students about use of dustbins. 2. Shri Mukesh Rana (TGT Music) delivered a speech on the topic of importance of cleanliness. He motivated everyone to participate in the Swachhta Abhiyaan with vigor. They must assume the responsibility of keeping the surroundings clean themselves. The address was followed by the mass pledge taking by all students and staff. All the staff and students administered the pledge to not indulge in littering and to not allow it to happen. Further, all present pledged to devote 2 hours per week towards voluntary work for cleanliness and to further propagate the pledge among friends and family 3. Mrs. Rinjumoni Kalita ( PGT English) addressed the students and shared information about the initiative of MHRD, Government of India of streamlining the Teachers Day celebration and amalgamating it with Swacchhta Pakhwada. As a part of celebrations of Swachhata Pakhwara, special cleanliness drive was carried out at JNV premises on 5th September, wherein the students and staff of the vidyalaya participated in the cleaning and beautification of campus.

3 4. On 6 th September,2017, a cleaning awareness programme was organized in Nihokhu village by the 20 Nos. of students under the supervision of Shri Mukesh Rana (TGT Music). Shri Kholi Dekho, Principal, JNV, Dimapur, welcomed all the students and addressed them on the objective & purpose of the cleanliness awareness programme in an encouraging manner. There after 20 Nos of students participated in the cleaning programme in the Nihokhu village. The villagers themselves also participated in the village surroundings cleaning. Shri Mukesh Rana (TGT Music) advised the villagers to use the dustbins to throw the waste garbage instead of littering the streets & road On same day, An essay writing, painting & poster making competitions were conducted with the theme Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi. A cleaning programme was also conducted in the office and Principal chamber. Apart from carrying on routine cleanliness chores followed in JNV, special efforts were made on cleaning of rearrangement of office furniture with the involvement of scout boys and office staff. On 8 th September, 2017, Toilet Awareness Day was observed wherein Shri Robindro Singh (TGT Science) made aware the students about right usage of toilet, maintaining hygiene while using them, reducing wastage of water and proper hand wash. A toilet cleaning drive was also organized in the all dormitories with the involvement of students under the supervision of the teachers. 6. On 9 th Sept, 2017, A PTC meeting was conducted. All the PTC members participated in cleaning in vidyalaya campus. Shri Kholi Dikho, Principal, advised to them to convey the message of Swachhta Pakhwada in villagers 7. On 11 th Sept, 2017, A cleaning programme was conducted in the all the rooms of academic block with the involvement of scout boys under the supervision of teachers. 5 8. 0n 12 th Sept, A cleaning programme was organized in the staff quarters. All the staff cleaned their respective quarters 9. On 14 th Sept. 2017, the closing ceremony of Swachhata & Hindi Pakhwada was organized at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Nihokhu Dimapur,..The prizes were distributed by the Shri Harinder Bisht, Subedar, Assam Rifle Nihokhu Post & by Shri Kholi Dikho, Principal, JNV Nihokhu, Dimapur to the winners of various events conducted during Swachhata & Hindi Pakhwada. After this, Shri Kholi Dikho, Principal, JNV Nihokhu, Dimapur addressed emphasizing the importance of cleanliness to all students & the staff. The vote of thanks was given by Mukesh Rana (TGT Music) at the end of the event. The Swachhata Pakhwada was ended with the Swachhta Rally in the Nihohku Village.
