3 (c) PARENT TEACHER MEET was held on 01 Apr 2018 to discuss the results of term end examinations. (d) UPSC WRITTEN EXAMINATION (141 NDA COURSE) 22 APR cadets of Class XII ( ) of our school appeared for the UPSC Written Examination at various centres in Visakhapatnam. The School has institutionalised a mechanism to ensure that the passed out cadets are called back to School to give the exam centrally. Out of 81 cadets 18 cleared UPSC Written Examination. 13 cadets of the same batch already cleared to join NDA 140 course. (e) Aptitude Test and Session Ending Test An Aptitude Test for Class XI was conducted from 21 to 25 Apr The results of the same have been uploaded on school website. (f) Summer vacation for classes VII to XI The school closed for summer vacation with effect from 29 Apr to 12 Jun 18. (g) PERIODIC TEST I for Classes VI to X & UNIT TEST I for Class XI were conducted from 25 Jun 2018 to 30 Jun (h) Orientation Programme Orientation Programme for new entrants of class VI and IX was conducted from 07 Jun to 11 Jun The programme included orientation in conversational English, Telugu, Hindi, SS, G.K. and school routine. As a part of Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat campaign in Sainik Schools, a series of presentations on state icons of Punjab & Andhra Pradesh were held in the week from 12 Apr 2018 by Cadets of class XI & XII. (l) GAMES AND SPORTS. Two cadets of class X Roll No Cdt Mohan Kumar and Roll No Cdt K Leela Sai participated in the Mountaineering Expedition. It was organised by Sainik School Society, New Delhi and was conducted by Sainik School Kunjpura at Manali from 25 May to 14 Jun The cadets scaled Peak Ladakhi, which is at the height of 5342 Mts. 3. Innovations carried out in the school in various areas: (a) Summer Class (i) With a view to cover the UPSC syllabus well in advance, summer classes were conducted for class XII cadets from 01 to 30 May Mr. Jitendra Dave, an expert in UPSC Mathematics was brought in for intervention and comprehensive outlook. In addition, English and General Studies were covered by our School Staff.

4 ii) Weekly UPSC Mock Tests are being conducted for XII on every Sunday, from 24 Jun 2018 onwards. 4. (a) Motivational Lectures / Tours conducted (i) Cycling Expedition A contingent of 45 cadets from Class XI escorted by four staff went on cycling expedition to Punyagiri Hills on 29 Mar (ii) Olympic Run 50 cadets from Class IX escorted by a staff member participated in Olympic Run conducted on 23 Jun 2018 organized by Vizianagaram District Olympic Association. (b) Functions (i) INVESTITURE CEREMONY Investiture Ceremony for cadet appointments of Class XII for the academic year was held on 23 Apr Vice Admiral MS Pawar, AVSM, VSM, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam (Ex-Saikorian, Roll No.1019), graced the occasion and conferred the ranks to appointments. Speaking on the occasion, he shared his rich experience of being a cadet and an officer which was motivating to the cadets. (ii) FAREWELL FUNCTION A special assembly was organized on 27 Apr 2018 to bid farewell to Mr. V Hari Babu, Craft Instructor, Sainik School Korukonda who superannuated from his service on 31 May (iii) FAREWELL FUNCTION A special assembly was organized on 25 June 2018 to bid farewell to Lt Col GG Ashok Kumar, Vice Principal and Sqn Ldr M Subba Rao, Administrative Officer, Sainik School Korukonda who were proceeding on posting (Permanent transfer). (c) Important NCC Training Events (i) NCC Commander Visit: Cmde VVS Raju, VM, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Visakhapatnam visited the school on 25 May (ii) International Yoga Day International Yoga Day was observed as a part of NCC training in the school on 21 Jun Officers, Cadets, staff and few students of nearby schools took active part in the event and practiced yoga to mark the occasion. (d) Inservice Training Programme At SS Kodagu Mr. P Srinivasa Rao, PGT (Mathematics), Dr. K Jaya Prakash (Librarian) and PV Chinnappa TGT (English) attended All India Sainik School Teachers Workshop held at SS Kodagu from 27 May to 02 Jun Payments and Accounts.
