ACADEMIC BACKGROUND FOR ADMISSION GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE CURRICULAR PLAN The PhD Innovation and Social Responsibility graduate is a person of integrity, with a deep human and moral education, inspired by the perennial values of Christianity (Christian Humanism), who does his/her activity responsibly, with global perspective and social or sustainable business approach, generating knowledge through field research, identifying real social needs and guiding the implementation and assessment of innovative and sustainable solutions to benefit those who develop them as well as the indigenous communities of our country. The student will be capable of: 1. Demonstrating mastery of knowledge concerning the field of study chosen in the doctoral program: Responsibility and Social Development or Social Responsibility and Business Development, recognizing the major problems that exist, as well as the scope and limitations of the researchers, approaches, methodologies and projects implemented. 2. Defining innovative models of social, economic and environmental intervention to promote sustainable development in entrepreneurial organizations and communities. 3. Implementing social leadership to innovative, sustainable and feasible projects to generate results and impact on the quality of life of people within their socio-cultural environment, to promote social, economic and environmental development as well as respect for diverse cultures and identities. 4. Developing and sustaining doctoral research as an expert in the topic addressed, demonstrating a careful, rigorous and sustained thesis, complying with the standard ISO 7144, allowing for subsequent incorporation into the academic community due to its compliance with the standards. 5. Publishing and/or participating in academic forums to communicate efficiently his/her findings and resulting practices, in the context of Social responsibility, at national and international level. 1
2 GRADUATE PROFILE As a result of their studies at the University, in the following academic areas and research lines, graduates are expected to: Academic Area. Ethical Research and Social Leadership 1. Design proposals for applied, innovative, sustainable and social impact research, whose structure and methodological design take into consideration the scientific knowledge available, the variables involved in the reality researched, and the human person and social benefit. 2. Collect reliable and valid information from the reality researched, in order to implement improvement strategies for the maximum use of available resources for the benefit of man and society. 3. Gather supporting documents, giving evidence on the research problem, the methodologies used and the results reported. 4. Write research reports, interpreting the findings found in the literature and in the reality observed, communicating them in an agile, concise and accurate way. 5. Assess the Anahuac leadership of the social entrepreneur -comprised by respect for human rights, transparency in accountability and the use of the resources- as a strategy in favor of the welfare of the person and society, proving rigorously the actions that make up the Anahuac researcher in Innovation and Social Responsibility. Academic Area. Innovation and Social Responsibility 6. Propose new management ideas derived from the analysis of conceptual innovation and social responsibility and its needs. 7. Define, choose and assess environmental strategies to favor the sustainability of projects, seeking to preserve natural resources, minimize environmental impact, promote recycling and the use of alternative energy. 8. Define, choose and assess financial strategies so that the models developed are sustainable over a specific period of time, in order to measure their social and economic impact. 9. Develop social innovation organizations, with a global vision, that respond to the needs identified and the common good. 10. Make proposals for communication, broadcasting and image including theoretical-methodological guidelines for social marketing, as well as best practices developed in national and international contexts. 11. Assess intervention models, and projects derived from them, in terms of: feasibility, technical, financial, economic, and normative viability (regulations, legal aspects, etc.). 12. Implement social audits which comply with methodological standards in order to enable decisionmaking and continuous improvement based on their results. Research Line. Responsibility and Social Development 13. Diagnose and determine the variables that affect the development of communities in a situation of high social and human vulnerability, generating proposals for the dissemination of knowledge, the strengthening of the actors interactions, and demonstrating improvement of the social and economic development. 14. Propose models, strategies and innovative and feasible public policies that favor citizen participation and volunteerism. 15. Plan social impact and assess, through accurate evidence, social intervention programs or models developed. Research Line. Social Responsibility and Business Development 16. Diagnose and determine the variables that affect business development, generating proposals for the dissemination of knowledge, the strengthening of the actors interactions, and demonstrating improvement of the social and economic development. 17. The subjects in this curriculum can be susceptible for accreditation without any equivalency, as long as they have been passed by the student and are common to other curriculums of the National Education System in terms of the Agreement 286, guideline no. 21. Clock hours can be taught on a weekly or intensive basis according to the University s schedule. 4
5 PROPOSAL FOR ASSESSMENT AND PERIODICAL UPDATE OF THE CURRICULAR PLAN Progressive evaluations will be performed on the curricular plan of the PhD Innovation and Social Responsibility in order to gather sufficient and reliable information to ensure it is kept up to date, guaranteeing its continuous improvement. Objectives 1. Assess the curricular plan as the product of a design or planning phase by the academic personnel of the School or Faculty and institutionally by the Academic Vice-Rectory. 2. Assess the curriculum systematically in order to obtain objective information to identify its efficiency, relevance and effectiveness levels, which are essential for feedback purposes and modification of the educational process. 3. Identify precisely and objectively any changes in the students knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes, from admission to graduation to be able to assess the level of compliance with the learning outcomes in the curriculum and the corresponding competencies in accordance with the curricular plan. This is the assessment of student learning. 4. Identify the effectiveness of the teaching methodologies, according to the achievement of the learning outcomes, and if weaknesses are identified, the assessment will guide the modifications to be made to this methodology, in order to improve it. This is the assessment of faculty activity and administration regarding the teaching activity. Instruments 1. For the internal evaluation of the curricular plan, the technique used is on the basis of judgment by institutional experts and the Consultative Council, whom assess the congruency of the plan s elements, validity, sequence and content structure. 2. To measure the achievement of students competencies, all kinds of instruments will be used (tests, checklists, measurement scales, etc.), provided that they accurately assess the learning acquisition in terms of content and content usage. The assessment of student learning during the courses is the professors responsibility. 3. To measure the efficiency of teaching, the integrated system for professor evaluation, which has been established by the University, will be used. 4. To measure the efficiency of the teacher support services and the educational administration, the institution will design instruments to measure precisely the different ways in which the University supports and encourages university teaching. At the end of every academic cycle and at graduation of every student generation, the institution will apply instruments to obtain information about the professional profile achieved; instruments such as examinations of general knowledge, questionnaires for graduate follow-up and opinion surveys regarding organizations that graduates join for work. The information derived from this assessment process will be used as feedback and as a framework for the modification or renewal of the curricular plan.
