9 The BA/MA Program Only 8 candidates selected to attend SAIS Expectation to complete program in 5 consecutive years Candidates chosen for program during sophomore year at Hopkins Spend junior year taking relevant Hopkins courses and completing undergraduate requirements Receive BA after first year of graduate degree and MA after the second year at SAIS; students attend graduation ceremony for their BA after year four, except at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center Participate in the same rigorous academic program; study with the same professors, interact on the same basis as everyone else with student body; fulfill same graduation requirements.

10 Junior Year Abroad Program Up to 6 candidates selected to attend SAIS Europe campus in Bologna, Italy during junior year Apply in sophomore year After one year in Bologna, come back to Homewood for senior year Not guaranteed admission to SAIS in the future If admitted, candidates receive a semester s advanced standing for year spent in Bologna. Exempted from taking any required courses completed during the year abroad
