2 ABOUT THE COLLEGE Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology (SRIT), an Autonomous Institution is one of the technological institutions of the prestigious SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Coimbatore. SRIT was started in 2002 under the approval of AICTE and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. SRIT offers six undergraduate programmes and five Post Graduate programmes in Engineering & Technology and MBA. SRIT has an excellent infrastructure with state-of-the-art laboratories; library, functioning with dedicated Faculty and able supporting personnel with well connected transport system. SRIT has signed a MOU with BAI, Kyungpook National University-Korea, Infosys (Campus Connect), NIIT, CISCO, BSNL, SREC-CSIR, Micromax Systems, SERTEL Electronics, Roots Industries, Salzer Electronics and CODISSIA, for collaborative research and academic development. Sri. R. Vijayakumhar, an eminent industrialist is the Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Sri.D. Lakshminarayanasamy is the Joint Managing Trustee, and Mr. C.V. Ramkumar is the Chief Executive. Dr. M. Paulraj is at the helm of affairs as Principal of SRIT, managing the academic and research growth of the Institution. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT Department of Chemistry is recognized as a Research Centre by Anna University, Chennai to offer full time / part time Ph.D. Programmes. It provides training and State of the art resources with well qualified faculty members in academic and research. The faculty members provide additional support for the final year students for their projects. The interdisciplinary staff members who are pursuing research are provided with laboratory facilities. The area of specialization of the faculty members include Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Nanochemistry, Coordination Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. Our aim is to bring out excellence among students in the respective disciplines by providing them with a deeper and thoroughbred knowledge about the basic facts and fundamentals of Science. Our teaching and learning process is based on the Outcome Based Education (OBE).The following Certificate Courses are being offered by the Department. Polymer Nanocomposites, Metal Processing, E-Waste Management, Corrosion Prevention and Control, Modern Fuel Cell Technologies and Modern Batteries. AIM OF THE CONFERENCE RACS-2017 aims to bring together students, researchers and academicians from multiple aspects of Chemical Sciences. It provide an opportunity to highlight recent developments and to identify emerging trends and future areas of growth in Chemical Sciences. CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Original research papers on the above areas are invited for presentation in the Conference. Abstract in MS word should be mailed to The abstract must not exceed 250 words in Times New Roman with font size 12 and 1.5 line spacing. The abstract must include Title, Name of the authors (presenting author of the paper to be underlined), Complete Address, ID, Contents and a maximum of five key words. The accepted abstracts will be published in a book with ISBN number. POSTER & ORAL PRESENTATION Poster Presentation: Posters will have dedicated sessions during the conference, during which authors must be next to their poster to answer questions. Please use an appropriate font size for the posters so that they are readable by the participants from 1.5 meter away. The poster message should be clear and understandable without oral explanation. Please assure that the poster is placed on the board before the beginning of the poster session. Oral Presentation: All technical sessions are equipped with a computer running Microsoft Windows with Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader. By using a pen drive or a CD, speakers may use the above mentioned equipment. 6 ABOUT COIMBATORE Coimbatore is an important industrial city located in the State of Tamil Nadu. Being a major textile manufacturing canter in India, it is also known as the Manchester of South India. There are more than 100 Textile Mills in and around Coimbatore apart from a number of other manufacturing units, which produce Engineering equipments and electronic items. 2 Coimbatore also has a 160,000 square feet (15,000 m ) trade fair ground, built in 1999 and is owned by CODISSIA. It is also the country's largest pillar-free hall, according to the Limca Book of Records. The city is also known for it's educational institutions. Coimbatore Agricultural University is renowned as one of the best colleges of it's kind in South Asia. In spite of it's industrial and technological growth, traditions and age old customs are still held in high esteem. The temples bear witness to the religiousness and love of art and architecture of the people. There are also a number of places of tourist interest around Coimbatore. Ootacamund (Ooty for short), is one of the most popular tourist spots in India.
