Dehler The College of Charleston Dept of Management & Entrepreneurship School of Business / 336 Beatty Center 5 Liberty Street Charleston, SC dehlerg@cofc.edu Brief Biography: Gordon Dehler (PhD, Organization Theory University of Cincinnati) is an associate professor of management in the School of Business. His research interests address the evolving nature of organizations, particularly in terms of workplace transformation reform in work design, leadership, and in post-secondary education itself, particularly through the use of action research. He is recognized internationally for his work on critical management education and is widely respected for his scholarship within the domain of management education and learning that is, how we go about learning the practice of management itself. Dr Dehler has created educational programs for graduate students representing a broad spectrum of organizations, including private sector organizations such as General Motors and British Airways, public sector organizations such as the CIA and city government, military organizations such as the US Navy and US Air Force, and social sector organizations including Habitat for Humanity and professional associations. Recently, his undergraduate strategy students worked closely with Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) executives on a variety of projects. In addition, his pedagogical innovations have been presented at more than 30 international, national, regional and local professional conferences. His scholarship has been published in the leading academic journals devoted to the advancement of management education and learning. He was formerly an associate editor of the international journal Management Learning, published in the UK, and the Journal of Management Education, and now serves on several journal editorial boards. He is the recipient of the 2013 David L. Bradford Outstanding Educator Award for his career contributions and accomplishments, the highest honor presented by the OBTS Teaching Society for Management Educators. He also received the School of Business Distinguished Teaching Award in 2009 at CofC.
