1 Applications and Features Summary for Blackboard Mobile Learn 3.0 This document describes the features that are Generally Available (GA) in Blackboard Mobile Learn 3.0. The features highlighted here are intended to take interactive teaching and learning to mobile devices, giving students and teachers instant access to their courses, content and organizations anywhere. Feature List: The following applications are generally available in the Blackboard Mobile Learn application: Feature Mobile Tests Push Notifications Announcements Grades Discussions Content Blogs Journals Roster Tasks Organizations Assignments Dashboard (supports 4.0+) (supports OS 2.2+) (supports OS 4.3+) 1

2 Mobile Tests Supported Question Types True/False Multiple Choice Short Answer Hot Spot Fill-In-Multiple-Blanks File Response (images only) Calculated Numeric Push Notifications Announcements: See when your professor has posted a new Announcement Course and Organization Available: Be notified as soon as you have access to a new course or organization Item Graded: Automatically get notified as soon as a new grade has been posted Content Item Available: See when new content has been added to your course Test: Get notified when you have a new Test, when a Test is Due, and when a Test is Past Due Announcements Post Announcements: Professors can post announcements on-the-go View Announcements: Students can get the latest news from their professor Grades View Grades: View grades by course 2

3 Discussions View Discussion Boards: View all the discussion threads by class View Thread Posts: View threaded discussion posts made by students and professors by date Create Discussion Threads: Create discussion threads from anywhere Reply to Discussion Threads: Add posts to discussion threads Comment in Discussion Threads: Comment on a specific discussion post, and not just the main thread *Upload Images and Videos: Take a photo or video to upload to a discussion thread Upload Existing Media: Choose an existing photo or video to upload to a discussion thread Upload Files: Upload files (.doc,.pdf, etc.) to a discussion thread Content View Media: View media types like MOV, MP4, MPEG, 3GPP, and more (depending on the device capabilities) Play Audio: Play audio like MP3, WAV, and more (depending on the device capabilities) Blogs Task Status: Update tasks teachers assign as you work through them.
