1 Leadership in Engineering Scholarship The Chassis Plans Leadership in Engineering Scholarship is awarded each year to one full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or Master s degree in engineering. Undergraduate engineering programs are those offering a bachelor s (or equivalent) degree in engineering. All scholarship winners receive a non-renewable scholarship of $1,500. The Chassis Plans Leadership in Engineering Scholarship was founded to assist future engineers in pursuing their degree in an effort to continue America s leadership in innovation. As an engineeringdriven company providing rugged computing solutions to industry and the military, we recognize that today s engineering students will be the driving force for continued leadership in the future. ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Enrolled full-time in an engineering program working toward a bachelor s or Master s degree. Hold US citizenship. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must have completed the equivalent of two years of full-time college study by the time the scholarship is funded. Submit typed (double-spaced) essay answering one of the posed questions. Note: Past winners and applicants of this scholarship are eligible to re-apply in future years. APPLICATION DEADLINE AND TIMELINE All applications must be postmarked by June 30, Scholarship awards will be announced on August 15, The funds will be disbursed after enrollment verification for the 2014/2015 school year. 2 ESSAY Prepare an essay of 1,000 to 1,500 words (typed, double-spaced) about one of the following topics: What technology will power cars and the driving experience in 10 years? As an Engineer, what do you see as the most socially important project you might have an opportunity to work on? What would be the most personally exciting project you could work on and what would you contribute? Essays must be typed and included with the completed application. Please don t fold everything up and jamb it all into a small business-sized #10 envelope.

4 CERTIFICATION If I am selected as a scholarship winner and in consideration thereof, I understand, agree and hereby grant permission to Chassis Plans to use my likeness and name in announcing and promoting this scholarship program. I further grant Chassis Plans permission to use my submitted essay, or portions thereof, in any manner they desire. I understand and agree that the Chassis Plans Scholarship Committee is solely responsible for the selection of the scholarship winners and its decision is final. I have completed the scholarship application and have attached the required documents. We do not furnish personal information to private nor commercial organizations. All information will be protected and will be securely destroyed once the winner is determined. The essays belong to you and will not be used by Chassis Plans in any manner unless specific written permission is provided by you. If you are the winner of the Scholarship and Chassis Plans desires to publish your essay, your authorship will be acknowledged. Your material can be returned to you if you provide a stamped return-address envelope with the application. No copies will kept.
