4 Sripatum University (SPU): Sripatum University is one of the oldest and most prestigious private universities in Thailand. It was founded on the 28th of May, 1970 by Dr. Sook Pookayaporn under the name Thai Suriya College. The name "Sripatum" meaning "Source of Knowledge Blooming Like a Lotus" was conferred on the college by Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother. At present, the university offers many degree programs in multi-disciplines at the undergraduate level and the postgraduate level including doctoral degrees. There are twelve teaching Faculties, namely-the Sripatum International College, Graduate School, Faculties of Law, Business Administration, Accounting, Communication Arts, Liberal Arts, Economics, Engineering, Informatics, Architecture, and School of Digital Media. In learning and teaching, the university aims to instill correct attitudes towards education in students so that they are enthusiastic in their pursuit of knowledge and self-development. This will give them a firm foundation for the future when they graduate. SPU realizes that academic knowledge and ability alone cannot bring success. Therefore, the university encourages students to participate in the extra-curricula to ensure that they have the opportunities to develop social skills such as the ability to coordinate, to provide leadership, to utilize creativity and to enhance interpersonal skills, etc. This is to prepare students to face the real world and to give them a firm foundation for personal development. Student activities are divided into those arranged by SPU, which will develop the students' personality and potential, and those arranged by each Faculty, which will improve the students' academic knowledge and experience. Student activities are organized by the students of each Faculty or by Student Clubs. For examples, academic services, art & culture and sports are activities that encourage students to use their free time constructively, to be united, to work as a group, to be responsible, to make sacrifices and to practice leadership. Applicant must have a good command of written and spoken English. Applicant must be in good condition physically and mentally. How to Apply: 1. Application: o Applicant may obtain application package from Sripatum International College (SIC) in person, or on SIC website at 2. 6 Programs Available (all 4 years degree): Bachelor of Arts in International Business Communication Bachelor of Business Administration in Hotel Management Scholarship Inclusion: Tuition fees and Registration fees for the period of four years (scholarship will be reviewed after each academic year, based on academic performance) Scholarship Exclusions: Accommodation Living Allowance Air Ticket Visa fees Personal expenses Medical expenses Health Insurance Other expenses that may occur Number of scholarships available: Twenty scholarships in total Visa: As soon as the selection of the awardees has been made, SIC will send the Letter of Acceptance to each student by mail. Upon your receipt, please contact the Thai Embassy / Consulate in your country to allow them sufficient time to process your visa application. The student shall apply for the appropriate type of visa (Non-Immigration, ED type) as early as possible on their own expenses.
