1 PROPOSAL for PARTICIPATION for THE STUDENTS of MODERN SCHOOL - DELHI LONDON INTERNATIONAL YOUTH SCIENCE FORUM 2013 About LIYSF: LIYSF, is a two week residential forum that will be held at the IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON between the 24 th July 7 th August, it attracts over 350 of the world s leading young scientists, aged years old, from more than 60 participating countries, including the top prize winners from the European Union Contest for Young Scientists LIYSF 2013 will explore the future developments in the sciences, with lecture demonstrations, specialist seminars and debates led by a team of scientists and experts from Europe & U.K. like Prof. John Ellis who is a CERN Theorist Geneva. Key elements of the programme include opportunities to visit industrial sites, research centre s, laboratories, scientific institutions and organizations, including world class research facilities of some of the leading universities of the world that include Cambridge & Oxford amongst many others. The theme for 2013 shall be Crossing Science Boundaries - LIYSF 2013 will consider how an increasingly interdisciplinary approach impacts the future for science students and what it means in terms of new career opportunities. As the fusion of core subject areas increase, we will critically examine if the current education system is reacting quick enough to match the research developments and new frontiers of science and how students can best equip themselves to learn and continually adapt in this ever emerging interdisciplinary environment. The Forum is endorsed by the U.K. Prime Minister.

2 Participation Conditions: 1. Participation is open to students of science between the ages of yrs 2. The Forum is conducted throughout in English and participants should have a good knowledge of the language. 3. Students must be studying science and have achieved or be in preparation for taking exam qualifications for university entrance 4. Participants must arrange their own funding. 5. Participation is limited to only 35 students from India & will be considered on a first come first served basis. Participation Cost: LIYSF Participation Fee: GBP Administration Charges GBP 225 = GBP 1720/ per person + INR 77,000/ (1 GBP = INR 88) = Rs 2, 28,360/ per person Inclusions: 1. Accommodation in a University Hall of Residence including Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner for the duration of the programme. 2) The full programme of Lectures, Seminars and Visits (including transport in and out of London), together with the social programme, maps and other necessary documentation. 3) Airfare on an Ex Bom / Delhi basis 4) Travel Insurance 5) UK Visa Charges

3 Optional Tours: We actively encourage you to get involved with as many of the optional visits as possible; it will broaden your experience of London, introduce you to some memorable attractions and allow you to spend time with some new found friends! 1) City Tour of London GBP 25/ 2) State Rooms of Buckingham Palace GBP 30/ 3) London Eye Experience GBP 25/ 4) Excursion to Stonehenge & Salisbury GBP 35/ 5) Excursion to Hampton Court Palace & Windsor GBP 35/ 6) Theatre GBP 30/ 7) London Dungeons GBP 40/ 8) Private Transfers GBP 150/ Total: GBP 370/ pp Notes: 1) The offer has been made considering the 88/ however payment will have to made based on the ROE applicable on the date of payment 2) Airfare has been Rs 60,000/ any increase shall have to paid at actual 3) Cost does not include: Items of a personal nature such as telephone bills, room service, etc & any other services not mentioned 4) We shall arrange for suitable invitation / visa request letters to facilitate the visa process Teacher Escort: The Forum offers a free seat for a Teacher Escort to a School / Educational Institute that commits a minimum 12 students to the Forum, the minimum number of participants can be relaxed to 10 students at the discretion of the

4 Conference Director. In case the number of students is less than 10 & the school / educational institute yet wishes to send a Teacher Escort, to facilitate this, the Forum offers a concessional rate of GBP 1095/ per person. This is not inclusive of Airfare, Visa & Insurance & will be INR 77,000/ per person. Such is the high level academic content of our programme that it could be considered for academic credit; however we welcome students from over 50

5 countries worldwide and thus it would not be feasible for us to work with 50 different academic credit systems and nor would it be fair for us to just work with a few, thus we do not pursue this.
