Experience Health Promoter, ASETECO, A.C Oaxaca, México My position at this non-profit organization was to visit nearly 10 indigenous communities during the summer, in order to provide health workshops for specific groups. As a Health promoter, I had to develop the capacity to establish a bond of trust with the people, in order for them to participate and talk about the main health problems attacking their community

3 Promoter, CECAMO. A. C, Oaxaca, México This organization worked specifically in improving the economical situation of women in several indigenous communities. My role as a promoter was to provide consultant work of a financial program based on the ideas of the Grammen Bank (Bank of the poor), a program of microcredit, which means the extension of small loans to entrepreneurs too poor to qualify for traditional bank loans. Tutor. ASETECO, A.C, Oaxaca, México In this term, I was in charge of tutoring simple programs like Paint, Word and Encarta encyclopedia, to children of elementary school. The average age was from 6 to 12 years old. The tutoring consisted on teaching the children of an indigenous community named Tlalixtac (30- minutes away from Oaxaca, City). By the end of this summer course, the children had the knowledge and capabilities to handle the basics of a computer. Translator. INPRO. A. C, Chihuahua, México My duties consisted on translating Spanish to English, and vice-versa, historical, political, economical, etc., reports and documents in order for this organization to create a bilingual database of their processed information. Volunteer. Sin Fronteras Organizing Project, El Paso, Texas My participation at this organization as a volunteer since the beginning has consisted on learning how to work in every area added to being in contact and help one of the most marginal sectors in our society: the farmworkers. My duties varied depending on what is needed, paperwork, research, participation in meetings and tutoring. Director. Museo Mayachen, La Mujer Obrera, El Paso, Texas Responsible for the planning and development of permanent and temporary exhibitions for Mayachen Museum. Networking with the community of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, to gather a variety of archival materials and oral histories for Museo Mayachen collection. Coordination of meetings for the community planning committee, and systematization/ documentation of community participation in the curation of exhibits. Research and documentation of information related to the history of the border and the various states of Mexico.
