1 Call for n. 10 scholarships within the Action 1 of Progetto Mediterraneo Double Degree Programme for regular students LUISS University and University of Petra ART. 1 Objectives 1. LUISS University, jointly with the University of Petra (UOP), offers n. 10 scholarships for students already enrolled in UOP at the first year of the Bachelor course in Business Administration during the academic year , in order to continue their studies in a joint programme organized by LUISS and UOP. 2. During the Bachelor Programme, Double degree students shall study at UOP in their first (a.y ), second (a.y ) and fourth year ( ) and transfer to LUISS in the third year (a.y ) within the Laurea triennale (Bachelor Degree) programme in Economics and Business (course held in English language). 3. Selected students will receive a scholarship by LUISS during for 3 years starting in the academic year , including the period spent in Jordan. The scholarship will bear expenses related to tuition fees, housing, visa, travel, meals, health, books, stationery and adequate travel and medical insurance for the entire period of mobility, as well as an English language course to be held during the Programme, as indicated in the Annex 1 of the present Call. 4. At the end of the Double degree programme, if participating students have completed all required courses and obtained all required credits, and have received a passing grade on his/her thesis, he or she will receive the corresponding national degree from each institution according to this agreement (double degree). 5. The study plan of the Double degree programme is specified in the Annex 2 of the present Call

2 ART. 2 - Eligibility criteria 1. In order to apply for the scholarship, candidates must be enrolled in the first year of the Bachelor in Business Administration at UOP during the academic year and they have to respect the following criteria: - fulfill all the Italian requirements to be admitted to an Italian Laurea programme (final school leaving diploma that gives access to HE courses); - excellent academic performance; - economically disadvantaged status; - good knowledge of English language; - motivation and interest in the Programme; - eligible to obtain a visa to enter Italy. ART. 3 - Procedures and terms of application 1. Candidates must apply to the International Education Unit at the University of Petra at the Deanship of Admissions and Registration [rshaker@uop.edu.jo]. Application deadline is the 17 th of July 2017 at 14:00 pm (Jordan time). 2. In the Application, candidates must provide the following documents: 1. Curriculum vitae in English 2. A motivation letter in English 3. Copy of a valid passport 4. Language certificate(s) or proof of language proficiency (English language) 5. Proof of economic status [Salary slip, Certificate from Social Security Corporation, House Rental Contract, etc.] 6. Copy of official transcript of records in English of the first academic year at UOP 7. Copy of the final school leaving diploma that gives access to HE courses. Only applications accompanied by all documentation and received by the deadline of this call for applications will be considered. Art. 4 - Selection procedures and list of selected candidates 1. Applications will be assessed by a Commission composed by representatives of UOP and LUISS. The Commission shall evaluate applications on the basis of the following criteria: 1. Academic performance during the first academic year at UOP 2. English language level 3. Motivation letter - 2 -

3 4. Financial status 5. Gender and geographical balance 2. The members of the Commission at the University of Petra will be composed by the the following: 1- Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences 2- Director of the Office of External Funding 3- A representative of the Business Administration Department 4- Officer of the International Education Unit at the Deanship of Admission and Registration. 3. The selection process will take place in two phases, Phase 1 and Phase 2: Phase 1: 1- A call for applications will be issued to all students in the Business Administration Department. The call will be published on all possible channels. 2- The Application form will be available online. 3- In Phase 1, the student will submit the application form along with the supporting documents based on the following selection criteria: a. Academic achievement (minimum of 2.5 GPA) (50%) b. English level (15%) c. Financial status (20%) d. Motivation letter (15%) Initial selection of students will take place to shortlist a number of students (20). Phase 2: 1- The Commission will approve a short-list of 20 selected candidates and may be invited the candidates to attend an interview with UOP and LUISS academics in order to select the final list of 10 scholarship beneficiaries. 2- UOP will inform candidates about the date and the place of the interview (to be held at UOP on the 20th of July 2017). Art. 5 - Students obligations and rights 1. In order to receive the scholarship and stay enrolled in the Double Degree programme, selected students will need to comply with academic and non-academic requirements, such as - 3 -

4 completing a certain number of credits each year, obtain a minimum average grade and not incur in academic or personal dishonesty. 2. Selected students must attend and pass an English course during the first, second and third year of the Programme. 3. Selected students will sign a Student Agreement containing all rights and obligations deriving to their status. 4. The Double degree students shall be subject to policies, procedures and the laws of the Host institution and the host country. The students will be disciplined or expelled for violations in the same manner as students of the Host institution. 5. The Double degree students shall have the same rights and privileges regarding the facilities and amenities of the Host institution as the home students. ART. 6 - Conditions of scholarship awarding and enrolment 1. In order to accept the scholarship, each beneficiary have to sign the Student Agreement by the 30th of July. The original copy of the Student Agreement must be given to UOP offices (International Education Unit). 2. The scholarship will be assigned only to enrolled selected candidates. In case a selected candidate does not enroll to the present Double Degree programme, the scholarship will be considered void and cancelled. 3. In case of renouncement or impossibility to enroll, the selected candidate will be replaced by the first available candidate in the selection list until all scholarships will be assigned

5 ANNEX 1 JOINT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM at BACHELOR LEVEL for regular students SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS 1. Selected students will receive a scholarship by LUISS during the entire period of studies, including the three years in Jordan. 2. The scholarship will bear expenses related to tuition fees, housing, visa, travel, meals, health, books, stationery and adequate travel and medical insurance for the entire period of mobility, as well as an English language course to be held during the Programme. 3. LUISS will provide with off-campus accommodation in Rome within reasonable access to the campus, e.g. by public transport. 4. LUISS will assist students in organizing orientation activities, and providing on-going academic and social support services. 5. LUISS will issue appropriate documents to assist a prospective Double degree student to obtain a visa under the current legislation of the host country, albeit each Double degree student answers for obtaining his or her own visa and for complying with further immigration formalities. Moreover, he or she is solely responsible for submitting in due time all documents required to pursue the exchange period at the Host institution. 6. All amounts are expressed in Euro ( ) and they cannot exceed the total amount indicated within the present Annex. 7. The funds related to the scholarship can be summarised as follows: A. UoP and LUISS fees for each student per each of the 3 academic years. B. Educational material/books for each student during the entire Programme. C. Living expenses for each student per each of the 2 academic years spent in Jordan: 350 per month. D. Off-campus accommodation in Rome including the access to the university canteen. E. Living expenses for each student during the academic year spent in Italy: 300 per month. F. Travel costs for each student to cover two return trips in the academic year spent at LUISS: per travel. 8. UoP will organise an English course during the academic years and for the 10 students in order to improve their language skills. 9. Different expenses related to the period spent in Jordan will be managed and paid to the selected students directly by UoP, according to the amounts indicated in the present Annex. 10.
