3 ADMISSION PROCEDURE 1. ADMISSION 1.1. Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun will permit admission to M.Tech/M.Pharm Programmes of two years duration in university and various institutions affiliated to university University will award M.Tech/M.Pharm degree Reservation in admission shall be vacant seats shall be final in case of non-availability of suitable candidates in any categories. 2. (III) Private Institutions Affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun 2.2. LIST FOR M.PHARM.PROGRAMMES/INTITUTIONS/INTAKE (I) Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. (II) Private institutions Affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun 3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (a) The applicant admitted in M.Tech/M.Pharm programme must have at least: 1. For General/OBC candidates 60%marks in B.Tech/B.Pharm or equivalent 2. For SC/ST candidates 55%marks in B.Tech/B.Pharm or equivalent 3. Pass the University online entrance examination 4. Candidates having 60% marks and valid GATE/GPAT score General/OBC or 55% of marks and valid GATE/GPAT score, SC/ST candidates will be given preference in admission. Such candidates are not require to appear in University entrance examination. (b) Reservation shall be applicable as per State Government Norms. (c) For admission to M.Tech candidate should be B.Tech degree from recognized University under 2(f) of UGC act 1956 in the relevant field. (d) The equivalency of any degree for admission to any programme will be decided by University. The eligibility criteria given above are minimum. University may prescribe any other requirements over and above these conditions. 4. SELECTION PROCEDURE 4.1. The admission to M.Tech /M.Pharm programme for AICTE approved institutions shall be based on the merit of valid score secured by the GATE/GPAT candidate must have valid minimum GATE/GPAT score as per eligibility criterion [3.(a).(d)] For seats available after counselling of valid GATE/GPAT score holders (as per clause 4.1). the admission will be based on the merit of Entrance Examination conducted by UTU The result of Entrance Exam as well as merit of valid GATE/GPAT score holders called for counselling. Will be published on University website: The number of seats programme. Institution and/or University study centre may change. 5. EXAMINATION DETAIL 5.1. Candidate will be required to appear in three hours duration. The question papers will be in English only. The choice is the responsibility of the candidate.

4 5.2. There will be single paper for M.Pharm candidate. The question paper will have 100 object type questions The question paper for M.Tech candidate will consist of two section section-i will have 30 objective type questions from general aptitude and maths and Section-II will have eight subsections: A -Chemical Engineering B- Civil Engineering C- Computer science & Information Technology D- Electrical Engineering E- Electronics & Communication Engineering F- Mechanical Engineering G- Biotechnology H- Instrumentation Engineering I- Production & Industrial Engineering Each sub-section will have 70 objective type questions. Candidates are required to answer any one sub-section (A to H as given above) only. Candidates are free to choose any sub-section according to their admission plan, keeping in mind the eligibility criteria of the programme in which they wish to seek admission The question prepared will be fully objective type. Each question will have 04 options. More than one answer by candidates will be deemed as incorrect response Marking shall be as follows: 05 Marks shall be awarded for each correct answer 5.6. In case two or more candidates secured equal marks, inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows: i. Firstly, by the number of incorrect answer given. A candidate giving lesser number of incorrect answer will be placed at higher merit. ii. Secondly, by the age. Vertical Reservation (Category): Reservation will be accepted as per latest Uttarakhand Government norms Horizontal Reservation (Sub-category available in each category): Reservation will be accepted as per latest Uttarakhand Government norms. Subject to change as per latest instruction of Govt of Uttarakhand till the date of counselling 8.3. The candidate can be given only one type of horizontal reservation Subsequent request for the change of category/sub-category filled in application form shall not be entertained under any circumstances Category /sub-category must be supported by the relevant certificates as per proforma given in the appendix c to be produced at the time of counselling. Failing which the candidate shall be treated in general Category The advantage of horizontal reservation in armed force sub-category is available to sons/daughters of defence personnel of Uttarakhand either retired (Superannuated) or killed/disable in action and the dependents settled in Uttarakhand or the defence personnel posted in Uttarakhand on the date of Entrance Examination Certificated no.4,5 and 6 are required at the time of counselling for reservation in subcategories mentioned at clause 8.2(a).(b) and(c) respectively. 9. MEDICAL STANDARDS 9.1. Candidates Called for counselling will have to submitted an undertaking for Medical fitness on Certificated number 10.

6 9.2. The candidate should have to submit Medical certificate on Performa given as certificate number 9 at the time of admission in the college allotted. CENTER OF EXAMINATION The Online Entrance Exam-2012 for M.Tech/M.Pharm will be held at Dehradun. 11. COUNSELLING: Counselling will be done at Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. The details of counselling will be provided to successful candidate with counselling letter. The information about counselling schedule, procedure and centres etc. will also be available on website: The candidates called for counselling will be required to come with original certificates of qualifying examination, mark sheet/certificate, domicile and category/reservation certificates etc. With one attested copy of each. In case the candidates do not submit the proper category/reservation certificate in the prescribed performa at the time of counselling. The advantage of reserved category shall not be provided and they will be treated in general category. If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside Uttarakhand, he/she has to bring the domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father Or Mother)only at the time of counselling.the candidate must note that his/her domicile certificate is not acceptable, in place of his parent s certificate and no request shall be entertained for relaxation Verification of original documents would be done at the time of counselling at the counselling centre. The purpose would be to verify different records regarding qualifying examination, eligibility, and category / reservation certificate and weight age etc. of the candidate. The candidates will not be considered for admission if he does not show the original documents at counselling centre. However the originals will be returned to candidates The initial fee of Rs.10,000/- will be deposited at counselling centre in the form of Bank draft. This fee is adjustable against total fee payable at institution if candidate take admission at allotted institute/university. The initial fee of Rs 10,000/- will be forfeited if the candidate does not take admission in allotted instituted requests for return of this fee in such case will not be entertained In addition to initial fee the candidate called for counselling is to deposit a separate bank draft of Rs.1000/- as counselling fee.the counselling fee is non-refundable After first counselling, the special drive for re-counselling will be filling the vacant seats of reserved categories. The detailed procedure for re-counselling for special drive shall be displayed on the website at the time of counselling. During the special drive for re-counselling fee will be collected though separate Bank Draft in the following manner. (a) Rs. 10,000/- as initial fee and Rs.1000/- as re-counselling fee from those who have not been allotted any seat in earlier counselling or not participated in earlier counselling or seat is cancelled in earlier counselling. (b) Rs. 1000/- only as re-counselling fee from those who would like to shift to other choice All the Bank Draft must be prepared separately and drawn in favour of Finance Controller, Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun.

7 11.8. Counselling procedures will be available on website: well in time before start of counselling. The candidates are advised to log on this website for procedures of counselling The latest instruction of AICTE, Govt. And UTU up to the date (s) of counselling shall be applicable. 12. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED The candidates are required to bring the following documents, in original along with one set of photocopies with them at the time of counselling. (a) High School Certificate. (b) Mark sheets of qualifying examination. (c) GATE/GPAT score card (d) Category and subcategory certificate(s), if applicable. (e) Passport size photo. (2 Nos.) (f) Domicile Certificate (g) Medical Certificate/Undertaking 13. OTHER INFORMATIONS 1. Incomplete application will be rejected. 2. No TA/DA will be admissible to be the candidates called for the entrance examination/counselling. 3. The decision of University for the selection of candidates shall be final. 4. Self-attested photocopies of certificate in support of education, GATE/GPAT score and category & sub-category certificate (s) etc. should be sent along with the application. 5.
