3 -3- Instructions to the Candidates of Master in Medicine (Family Medicine) Degree Course (2 Years course) through Distance Education Mode 1. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, University of Madras, Bharathiar University Bharathidasan University and Madurai Kamaraj University shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate from this University. 2. Candidate has to submit duly filled in Eligibility Certificate Application Form downloaded from the Website of The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University either in person or by post. 3. Candidate has to remit a sum of Rs.1,600/- towards the cost of application and Eligibility Certificate Fee through "Payment Gateway for students & others" provided in the Online Remittance System in the University website or the IOB challan to be paid at The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University Premises. No demand Draft / Banker s Cheque will be accepted for the above amount. 4. The amount once remitted by the candidate to the University will not be refunded at any cost. 5. Candidate should apply for Eligibility Certificates before admission in the Course. Eligibility Certifcate will not be issued after admission to the Course. Candidates seeking Eligibility Certificate must fill up the application form in his/her own handwriting and sign in the application without fail. Others should not sign in the application form. If others signed in the application form, the same will be summarily rejected. Only one eligibility certificate will be issued to a candidate or an authorised person. 6. ADMISSION TO MASTER IN MEDICINE (FM) COURSES Candidates who have passed the M.B.B.S. Examinations as as accepted by this University or equivalent examination alone are eligible for admission to the First Year of Master in Medicine Courses in this University. They must produce the Original Degree certificate issued by the University concerned for verification. They must produce the course completion and CRRI completion Certificate issued by the College authority concerned in original specifying the duration of the study and also to produce the Transfer and Migration Certificate obtained from the University concerned.

Candidate has to furnish the following documents in ORIGINAL and one set of Xerox copies a) Qualifying Examination Provisional/Degree Certificate. b) CRRI Completion Certificate. c) State Council s Registration Certificate. d) Migration Certificate. e) Proof of Date of Birth The originals will be returned along with the Eligibility Certificate retaining the Xerox copies. 8. The University will issue the Eligibility Certificate from 1st July of every Academic Year. 9. The last date for applying for the Eligibility certificate for Master in Medicine (Family Medicine) Course is 31 st August of every year. If 31 st August falls on holiday, the candidate has to apply for the eligibility certificate on the next working day. 10.Application for the issue of Eligibility Certificate will not be entertained after the prescribed cut-off-date for admission to the Master in Medicine (Family Medicine) Course during the academic year. 11. Institutions / Agents / Mediators are not allowed to apply for the eligibility certificate on behalf of the candidate. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Candidates for admission to the first year Master in Medicine (Family Medicine) Course shall be required to possess the following qualifications : He/She having qualified for the MBBS degree of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by the authority of this University and the Indian Medical Council and obtained permanent registration from any of the State Medical Councils.

5 -5- FEE FOR ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE FOR FOREIGN CANDIDATES Candidates who have passed MBBS or Equivalent Degree in Foreign Countries has to remit a sum of US $ 500 and Foreign Nationals US $ 2000 towards the cost of application and Eligibility fee. The amount should be drawn in favour of The Registrar, The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University payable at Chennai. The following Certifcates to be enclosed by the candidate for applying of Eligibility Certficate. A Certifcate for Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualification. Registered with Central Medical Council of India, New Delhi Registered with State Medical Council Tamilnadu.
