5 General instructions for the candidates 1. The crucial date for determining the age limit of the candidates will be the closing date for receipt of applications. The last date for receipt of the application is 30 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in the Employment News (to be calculated from the first day of the week). 2. The candidates are required to submit attested copies of certificates in support of their claims regarding Age, Educational qualifications, SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman etc. along with their application. 3. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for written test/interview. The decision of the Competent Authority in CMFRI in all matters will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/written test/interview etc. Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature. 4. The candidates applying for the posts as notified should ensure that they fulfill all the prescribed eligibility conditions as on the closing date for receipt of applications. 5. The applications without complete address & Pin Code will not be considered. 6. The Director, CMFRI has the right to fix criteria for screening the application so as to reduce the number of candidates to be called for written test. 7. The selection will be made on the basis of written test which will be conducted on a single day at a place (s) as per the discretion of the Competent Authority. 8. Application fee of 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) (Non-refundable) in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of ICAR Unit, CMFRI, Cochin should be enclosed along with the application. No other means of payment will be accepted. No fee for SC/ST/woman candidates. 9. The filled application form, duly signed and affixed with a recent passport size photograph along with attested copies of certificates in support of claims regarding age, educational qualifications, SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman etc. should be sent to the Director, Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Post Box No.1603, Ernakulam North P.O., Cochin , Kerala/ concerned Scientist-in-Charge of the Attached Regional/Research Centres of CMFRI. Service (Central/State/Autonomous bodies) should forward their applications through proper channel. 11. Incomplete applications or applications without latest Photograph, Signature and attested copies of Certificates and applications received after the last date are liable to be rejected. 12. At present the place of posting is as indicated in the advertisement. However, the selected candidates may liable to be posted either at the Centre concerned or any other Centre of CMFRI located all over India. 13. When called for written test, the candidate will have to appear at a place/date(s) to be notified in due course.

6 14. The Scheme of Examination to the post of Technician is attached as Annexure I and to the post of Technical Assistant is attached as Annexure II. 15. The selected candidate will be governed under the new defined Contributory Pension Scheme and ICAR rules applicable from time to time. 16. Applicant must submit a declaration as to whether he is related to any employees of CMFRI/ICAR and, if so, write the name, designation, address and describe the nature of his/her relationship against Sl.No.12 in the application form. 17. Applications received after due date for whatsoever reason including postal delay will not be considered. 18. All dispute/litigation, if any, in this regard will be subject to Cochin jurisdiction only.

7 Annexure I Syllabus & Scheme of Examination for the post of Technician The Question Paper for the written test will be of 100 marks consisting of Objective Type-Multiple Choice Questions as per the following Scheme:- Paper/Sections Subject Maximum Marks/ Questions I General Knowledge 25 II Mathematics 25 III Science 25 IV Social Science 25 Total (1 mark for each Question) 100 Total Duration/ Timing for candidates 1½ Hours

8 Annexure II Syllabus & Scheme of Examination for the post of Technical Assistant The Written Test will be of 100 marks and of objective type and the duration of the test will be two hours as detailed below:- Maximum Paper/ Subject Marks/ Sections Questions I General Knowledge 20 II General English 20 III Quantitative Aptitude 20 IV Question from Agriculture Related subjects 40 Total (1 mark for each Question) 100 Total Duration/ Timing for candidates 2 Hours Questions will be Objective Type Multiple Choice, set both in Hindi and English in respect of Section 1, 3 & 4. The questions in Section 1, 2 & 4 will be of level commensurate with the essential qualification viz., Graduation and Questions in Paper 3 will be of 10 th Standard level. There will be no interview for the post of Technical Assistant (T-3) and after the completion of the Written test the Directors of the Institutes, shall publish the result according to the available vacancies at the respective Institutes, on the basis of the merit and taking into accounts the orders for reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH issued by the Government. The recruitment will be Institute specific.
