ADVERTISEMENT Date: Applications from eligible candidates with full bio-data are invited for ONE post of Research Investigator (Time Scale) and for TWO posts of Research Fellow on a contractual basis, at the Population Research Centre, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam (A.P.), sponsored by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi (purely temporary and coterminous with release of funds to the above posts, from the funding agency). Necessary qualifications and experience for the posts mentioned can be obtained from the Website: DETAILS OF QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PAY FOR THE POSTS I. Name of the Post : Research Investigator (One Post) Scale of Pay : Rs.12, ,700 + Admissible allowances as per the University rules. (Andhra Pradesh Revised Pay Scales, 2010) A) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Essential: a) Post-graduate degree in Sociology/ Psychology. b) The selected candidate has to carryout extensive field work, data analysis and report writing, etc. Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications. B) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Candidate should have at least three (3) years experience in Collection/Analysis of Data/Conducting of Field Surveys, especially in Population Studies/Demographic and Socio-Economic Surveys. II. Name of the Post : RESEARCH FELLOW (Two Posts) Emoluments : For Research Fellow-I Rs.12, 000/- p.m. For Research Fellow-II Rs.10, 000/- p.m. In addition, a contingency grant of Rs.5, 000/- each per annum for Research Fellow-I and Research Fellow- II will be allowed to utilize for only research and studies related to the PRC activities as per the rules. A) QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Research Fellow-I: Second class Post Graduate degree in Demography/ Statistics/ Economics/ Mathematics from any recognized University/Institution with four (4) years of post qualification (i.e. after Post Graduation) experience in research in Population Studies/Demography/conducting of Socio-Economic/Demographic Surveys. Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

2 2 Research Fellow-II: Second class Post Graduate degree in Demography/Statistics/Economics/Mathematics from any recognized University/Institution with two (2) years of post qualification (i.e. after Post Graduation) experience in research in Population Studies/Demography/conducting of Socio-Economic/Demographic Surveys. Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications. JOB REQUIREMENT: The candidate is required to carry out extensive fieldwork based research in Population, Reproductive Health and Family Welfare Issues in Rural and Urban areas, Data analysis, Report Writing etc. Note: The appointing authority has a right to fill or not to fill one or all the posts or some of the posts mentioned above. The appointing authority has no liability for regularizing the services rendered or offer regular appointment in the PRC for the posts mentioned above namely Research Fellow-I and Research Fellow-II respectively. Only eligible candidates will be called for interview and no TA & DA will be paid by the appointing authority for attending the interview. Candidates should bring their original certificates/marks sheets/ testimonials etc along with one set of attested copies for perusal and record (to be produced at the time of Interview).
