1 About the Center:- YASHADA S Dr. Ambedkar Competitive Examination Center (ACEC), Coming together is Beginning keeping together is Progress Working together is Success Dr. Ambedkar Competitive Examination Center (ACEC) was set up at YASHADA, in Pune under the Special Component Plan (SCP) and started functioning with Center for Equity and Social Justice, YASHADA in May 2006, for giving Civil Services Examination coaching to candidates from weaker section of the society. In 2010, State Minority Commission & Minority Development Section, GoM has approved 10 seats for the Candidates of the Minority Community. ACEC aims at tapping the talent in students, encouraging them to appear for Civil Services Examination and helping them to prepare for the examination. It also aims at inculcating in them the culture of serving the community as a whole. Objectives: To create awareness among the youth of Maharashtra particularly from the deprived sections, about aims and objectives, procedures and relative advantages of various competitive examinations particularly Civil Services Examinations. To inculcate in them the culture of serving the community and the nation. To plan and conduct coaching and training programmes for successful participation in competitive examination. To muster support for conduct of coaching from eminent administrators, academicians and professional experts from management, training and research institutions.

2 Selection of Candidates: Applications will be invited through an advertisement in news paper & on website in August. State level entrance test is being conducted in the month of October / November, every year. Candidates are being selected on the basis of Merit of an entrance test. If required, Group Discussion/ Personal interviews are also being conducted. All Divisions: Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik, Amravati Specific scheme of the entrance test, GD, Personal Interview will be mentioned in the Advertisement. Advertisement will contain al details of Centers Result & Declaration of the List of Selected Candidates Admission Important Documents during Admission Around/Within 20 days after Exam In first Week of the November 1 st Degree/ Certificate, Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Admission Notification will be displayed on the Website of the Center ( Selected Candidates will have to submit the following

3 Undertaking from Candidate Certificate, Proof of belonging to Minority, Domicile Certificate, Birth Certificate/ SSC Certificate, School Leaving Certificate, Latest Creamy Layer Certificate (candidates whom it is applicable), Certificate/s related Disability -issued by competent Authority, Photo Identity Proof (Election Card, Pan card, Driving License etc.), Four Recent Passport size Color Photographs, Character Certificate (from Principal /HoD/ MLA or any Govt. gazzeted Officer ), Valid Residential Proof (Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Election Card/ Voter ID, Tel. Bill) & refundable Deposit. Only Cheque (in the name of Hon. Director General, YASHADA, Pune will be accepted. An undertaking at the time of Admission regarding Rules, regulations & Discipline on Bond Paper of Rs. 200/- is to be given to the Center. original documents during Admission. Attested Photocopies of all documents given below is also to be attached along with the Application Form After proper & from competent Authority Certificates will be verified then certificates will be given back to candidates. --

4 Facilities provided to Admitted Candidates: Facilities Details Accommodation The candidates are provided free dormitory residential facility on the campus of YASHADA. Stipend Computer & Internet Free quality Coaching Compulsory & Optional Subjects for Preliminary, Mains Exam by expert & experienced Resource persons Rs. 2500/- is paid as stipend to each candidate every month strictly on the Basis of Attendance in Classroom, Library, Performance in the Tests. Leaving the course without the knowledge of the Authorities will lead for action as per bond. Computer with high speed Internet is being made available to candidates. Eminent guest speakers are being called to deliver the lectures to conduct workshops. 24 x 7 Study Room Within the campus, next to library, 24 x 7, Air- conditioned study Room is made available to the Candidates Prosperous Library Regular Tests & its Evaluation & Feedback Counseling Gym/ Yoga Sports/Swimming Vipassana The well-equipped resourceful AC library facility with reading room is made available round the clock Section-wise & Comprehensive Test, around weekly Tests are being conducted. It is being evaluated by Experts. Feedback of the same is being given. Individual Counseling was officered by Director, ACEC & Subject- experts. Well-Equipped Gym is available in the Campus. Regular Yoga Class is also bring taken for the Trainees of the YASHADA Equipments of few Sports is also available. Swimming Pool is lso All candidates have to undergo a 10 days Vipassana course, which is expected to enhance their concentration and comprehension..

5 Coaching: A professional approach has been taken while providing coaching to the candidates. Highly knowledgeable and experienced Resource Persons for Optional subjects and General Studies are being engaged. In addition, newly selected IAS, IPS, IRS Officers are being engaged as guest faculty for orientation and coaching of the candidates. Eminent guest speakers are being called to deliver the lectures to conduct workshops. 6 Important information about civil services examination: The UPSC examination is conducted in Three Stages i) Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) - May ii) Main Examination - October iii) Interview - Sometime in April / May The Advertisement is published in Employment News and Rojgaar Samachar in January Candidates are advised to visit website of the UPSC ( www. upsc.gov.in) I. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION: An objective type examination consists of two compulsory papers. Paper I General Studies Marks Paper-II CSAT Marks II. MAIN EXAMINATION: It is descriptive examination which consists of nine papers of conventional essay type. COMPULSORY PAPERS Paper - I One of the Indian Languages Marks (to be selected by the candidate from the languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution) Paper II English Marks These two papers are of qualifying nature and marks obtained in these papers are not counted for merit. Paper- III - Essay Marks Papers-IV and V - General Studies I & II Marks each OPTIONAL PAPERS Papers VI and VII (Paper I and Paper II) - Papers VIII and IX (Paper I and Paper II)- (Any two subjects to be selected from the list of optional subjects. 7 Eligibility Conditions: Minimum Educational Qualifications: Graduate in any faculty from recognized University Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 yrs. and must not have attained the age of 30 yrs. as on 1 st August of the relevant year. Relaxation in age limit 5 years to SC/ST 3 years to OBC 10 years incase of Blind, Deaf- Mute Orthopadically handicap person Number of Attempts: Maximum 4 attempts for candidates from General Category SC/ST: NO limit if otherwise eligible.
