The crucial date for determining the age limit of candidates will be the closing date for receipt of applications. 2. Age relaxation (i) Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PH candidates. (ii) The Research Associates/Senior Research Fellows who have been engaged on contractual basis in different Projects in ICAR Institutes without break for less than six months as on date will be considered granting appropriate relaxation in the upper age limit to the extent of their spell they were actually engaged as RAs/SRFs and fulfilling the conditions as mentioned in ICAR Order 19(25) 2011 E. IV dated and 19(25) 2011 Estt. IV dated (maximum of 16 years 3 months). The age relaxation is applicable for the post of Technical Assistant only. No other relaxation whatsoever regarding essential qualifications and experience etc. is permissible. (iii) No upper age limit for regular employees of ICAR. 3. If the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is found to be large, the Director, C.I.F.T. Cochin reserves the right to short list the candidates for test/interview on the basis of qualification, experience etc. Contd.2

2 2 4. The prescribed qualifications are minimum and a higher qualification does not entitle any candidate to be called for written test/interview. The Institute has the right to fix criteria for screening the applications. 5. The post is non-government under I.C.A.R., which will be governed by National Pension Scheme introduced by Govt. of India w.e.f Candidates already in Govt. service (Central/State/Autonomous bodies) should forward their application through proper channel. 7. An application Fee of 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of ICAR Unit CIFT payable at Cochin should be enclosed along with the application. The application fee paid by way of Indian Postal Orders/ Money Orders etc. will not be accepted. Woman candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST category are exempted from payment of application fee. Person with disabilities are also exempted from payment of fee subject to submission of prescribed medical certificates. 8. Prescribed form of application may be down loaded from the Institute website filled in application form duly signed and affixed with a recent passport size photograph along with attested copies of certificates in support of claims regarding age, educational qualification/ Experience /Caste/ PH/ Ex-Serviceman etc. should be sent to the Director, Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Willingdon Island, CIFT Junction, Matsyapuri P.O., Cochin , Kerala within 30 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in the Employment News/News paper. 9. The Institute will not be responsible for late or non-receipt of applications due to postal delay/other reasons. 10. The envelope containing application should be superscribed as APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF at (Place), at the top of envelope. Separate application form along with separate fee is required for each post. 11. No TA/DA is admissible for attending written test/ interview. However, unemployed SC / ST candidates called for test/ interview will be paid 2 nd class train/bus fare by the shortest route, as per Govt. of India rules (on production of proof). 12. The persons selected are liable to be transferred anywhere in India under CIFT/ICAR. 13. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for written examination/interview. The decision of the Competent Authority in CIFT regarding all matters concerning the recruitment will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/ test/ interview/ appointment. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification. 3 14. The final selection of the candidates will be based on initial screening of the applications, followed by merit list as drawn out from the marks scored in written test/ interview. 15. Incomplete applications or applications without signature, latest photograph, attested copies of certificate and application received after the last date are liable to be rejected The candidates should submit a declaration stating whether he/she is not related to any employees of CIFT/ ICAR, and if related to someone write the name, designation, address and nature of his/ her relationship against 14 in the application form. 17. Disputes/ litigations, if any, will be subject to Cochin jurisdiction only. 18. The Director, C.I.F.T., Cochin reserves the right either to fill up the post or to cancel/withdraw the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reasons thereof.
