2 RAMCO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY It was 1938, when reverberations of the Industrial Revolution had not yet reached the interiors of South India and Shri P.A.C. Ramaswamy Raja the founder of RAMCO Group and one of the foremost visionary industrialists and philanthropists, setup the first Spinning Mill at Rajapalayam which later became the focal point of the Ramco Group. He made a lasting contribution to the development of society by setting up industries and educational institutions. He founded P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Education Charity Trust in 1950 and Raja Charity Trust in A number of educational institutions function under the aegis of these Trusts. More than 10,000 students are being benefitted by the Trust. Under the stewardship of our Founder Chairman Shri P.R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha, son of Shri P.A.C. Ramaswamy Raja, the Ramco Group has expanded into a USD 1 Billion industrial conglomerate with interests in manufacturing cotton and synthetic textiles, cement, building products, software solutions, wind-energy, education and more.
