1 Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar All India Services Pre-Examination Training Centre for SC/ST and Centre of Preparation for Competitive Examinations All India Services Pre-Examination Training Centre for SC/ST was set up in the University under the scheme of Government of India (Now under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment) in Another Centre of Preparation for Competitive Examinations (CPCE), financed by the University itself, was set up in 1994 for the candidates of general category along with the other centre. At presents, Director of the Centre is Prof. Sudha Jatinder (also Head, Deptt. of Hindi) In addition, the Centre engages about 25 teachers of the University and local colleges for teaching various subjects on lecture basis. (NET) Two Batches : (1) March to July (2) August to November Since the inception of the Centre many students have made it to the Indian Administrative and Allied Services. Besides, a large number of students of the Centre have been selected in Banks and Subordinate Services, Central Excise & Customs, Public Sector Units, Border Security Force, Central & State Education Department, LIC etc. Thus, the success rate of the Centre is quite high.
