Under the MMC legislation local school districts retain responsibility to issue diplomas, align curriculum, determine what constitutes a credit, establish a credit award system, identify assessments, set school calendars, select and purchase textbooks, etc. Local school boards and districts have the responsibility to determine how to implement the graduation requirements outlined by the MMC and when students have earned the credits. The MMC gives districts the flexibility to develop scheduling systems, curricula and courses to meet the individual needs and desires of each district. Local boards of education can establish additional graduation requirements beyond those in the MMC and the total number of credits required for graduation. However, a district cannot establish lesser requirements. 5

Students will examine the concepts of reality, faith and truth followed by an introduction to the Christ-centered Theistic worldview as it compares to the other major worldviews. Students will be challenged to apply the definitions of faith and truth through a personal examination of the clam that the Bible is God's collected book of revelation. Students will begin in the book of Acts and examine the relationship between culture and the transformative nature of the Christ-centered Gospel. Students will be challenged to examine scripture and apply Biblical principles to the cultural challenges of their generation. Students will develop and articulate a personal apologetic that address contemporary cultural issues within the context of community. The goal of this class in threefold: First, we will study what it means biblically to be a Christ follower. Second, we will examine the behavior of doubt and how to face head-on life s issues that cause us to question and doubt our faith. Does God s Word have answers? If so what are they? Third, each student will create the most important document of their life thus far, My Manifesto. This exercise has the potential to be life changing as it gives you the time to honestly think through what you actually believe and what direction you want to head. *This class is inquiry based and would be best described as a practical guide to Christian Faith. This course combines the study of the basic philosophy of the nature of reality and Christ-centered Theology with the exploration of the highly influential works of G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R Tolkien, including Orthodoxy, Mere Christianity, The Great Divorce, and selections from Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings. Students also study original works from worldrenowned Philosophers such as Plato and Nietzsche. Students will study major doctrines pertaining to the nature and existence of God, evil, and the nature of man. Students will examine the doctrines of scripture as the source of truth and the church as the body of Christ. Students will understand and apply these doctrines in the context of reflecting and communicating their faith in a contemporary culture of competing worldviews. This class will emphasize Christ's invitations to love and deny with the emphasis being placed on personalizing our relationship with Christ and moving from a follower to a friend.
