Blount County Board of Education conference room, Blount County Courthouse Annex, Oneonta, Alabama I. CALL TO ORDER: Chris Latta, President II. III. Roll Call and establishment of a quorum. Three members present constitutes a quorum. Approval of the Agenda IV. Superintendent s Report State Examiners Public Exit Report (fiscal year 2017) V. Financial and Cash Balances Report VI. Business 1. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to approve the FY2018 Budget Amendment #2. 2. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to amend the Authorization Resolution for the Blount County Board of Education to grant power for performing banking services to employees of the Board. Documentation is on file in the Superintendent s office. 3. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow the following student to transfer to the Jefferson County School System during the 2018-2019 school year with the stipulation that the Blount County Board of Education will not assume any liability in relation to this release. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to approve the following field trip request: Susan Moore Dreamcatchers Program of Blount County Education Foundation (124) to attend a Birmingham Barons game, Regions Field, Birmingham, Alabama, July 10, 5. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to approve payment in the amount of $14,500.00 for the 2018-2019 Alabama Association of School Board membership fees.

6. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to approve the following handbooks for the 2018-2019 school year: Appalachian High School Blountsville Elementary School Cleveland High School Hayden Primary School Hayden Elementary School Hayden Middle School Hayden High School J. B. Pennington High School Locust Fork High School Susan Moore Elementary School Susan Moore High School 7. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow the Appalachian High School basketball program to host a youth basketball camp, July 16-18, 2018 in the Appalachian High School gym. The cost for the camp is $25 per player. Any proceeds after expenses will go directly to the Appalachian High School basketball program. 8. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into an agreement between the Blount County Board of Education and the Community Action Partnership of North Alabama, Inc. to furnish meals for the Head Start programs in Blount County Schools at the prices listed below for the period beginning August 1, 2018 and ending July 31, 2019. Breakfast Lunch Snack Staff Breakfast Staff Lunch $1.75 each $3.00 each $1.00 each $2.00 each $3.25 each 9. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Hayden Middle School to enter into a 36-month copier lease agreement with Xerox Corporation for two copiers. All costs associated with this agreement will be paid from Hayden Middle School s local funds. 10. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Hayden Middle School to enter into a contract with TruGreen Commercial to provide lawn care service for the front lawn at the Hayden Middle School campus for the period beginning June 23, 2018 and ending June 22, 2019. All costs associated with this agreement will be paid from Hayden Middle School s local funds. 11. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into contracts between the Blount County Board of Education and David A. Shepard to address and train the staff of J. B. Pennington High School focused on student engagement and active teaching strategies on August 8, 2018 (full day) and September 17, 2018 (half day). All costs associated with the contracts will be paid from FY2018 School Improvement funds. Copies of the contracts are on file in the Superintendent s office.

12. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a Physical Therapy Services Agreement between the Blount County Board of Education and Pediatric Therapy Associates, Inc. for the 2018-2019 school year. 13. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education Child Nutrition Program and Rachel Jimerson to work on an as needed basis in the Summer Feeding Program at Susan Moore Elementary School beginning June 20, 2018 and ending July 13, For this service, Ms. Jimerson will be paid $17.00 per hour from Child Nutrition Program funds. 14. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to approve the following individuals as non-compensated volunteers at J. B. Pennington High School beginning June 22, 2018 and continuing through the 2018-2019 school year: Emily Penney Lana Penney 15. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to accept the resignation of Jamie Ben-Judah, Title I/Special Education aide at Locust Fork Elementary School, effective June 15, 16. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to accept the resignation of Shanna Mashburn, a teacher at Hayden Elementary School, effective June 8, 17. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to accept the resignation of Jefforey Morgan, a special education teacher at J. B. Pennington High School, effective June 13, 18. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to accept the resignation of Misty Sandlin, a teacher at Cleveland High School, effective June 11, 19. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to accept the resignation of Melanie Brianna Scott, a teacher at Susan Moore Elementary School, effective June 8, 20.
