Five eighth grade students were awarded the Coweta County All Star Award for three consecutive years. The recipients were Ashley Beil, Meghan Bouma, Haley Buttry, Graham Caldwell, and Princess Hayes. 1 1
DSC-0091 The Jerry Davis Award Recipients First row: Caroline Nelson, Hayden Reed, Holly Clark Second row: Jacob Maraman, Conner Bogolin, Jack Heatherman The Jerry Davis Award The Jerry Davis Award is presented to the middle school students who best exemplify the typical middle school student. The award is named in honor of Mr. Jerry Davis, the Coweta County Schools Associate Superintendent. Mr. Davis was one of the original middle school principals in Coweta County in 1988 at Evans Middle School where he remained principal until 2005. He is the president of the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders, past president of the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals, and the 2004 Georgia Association of Educational Leaders Outstanding Middle Level Educator. The award is presented annually to a male and female from each grade level. This year s recipients are sixth graders Holly Clark and Jack Heatherman; seventh graders Conner Bogolin and Hayden Reed; and eighth graders, Jacob Maraman, and Caroline Nelson. 2 2

DSC-0090 The Kiwanis Club Most Improved Students Recipients L to R: Seth Beckham, Aidan Magee, Wesley Chambless The Kiwanis Club Most Improved Students The Kiwanis Club of Newnan and Coweta County presents an award to the most improved eighth grade student in each of the county s six middle schools along with a plaque and a gift certificate. Kiwanis Club member Mrs. Lillie Smith, a former Coweta County principal, presented the award to Seth Beckham. Seth was selected by the eighth grade staff based on improved academics and attitude. Mrs. Smith also presented certificates to Wesley Chambless in grade six and Aidan Magee in grade seven as the most improved students in those grade levels. 4 4

The award is named in honor of Mr. John Dunn, a former principal and associate superintendent in Coweta County, who contributed much to the success of Coweta County s middle school program. This year s recipients were sixth graders Dylan Wynn, Marykathryn Hanson, Joon Baek, Korie Doster, Andrew Vang, and Emily Prosser; seventh graders Luke Turner, Katie Morgenroth, Kay Lee Feliz, Dennis Gomez, Jack Newton, and Sam Sadler; and eighth graders Alex Boutte', MacKenzie Milam, Michael Garcia, Kaelynn High, Zach Brown, and Gabby Lotter. 5 5

The award is named in honor of Lee s first principal (2006-2013) who was an NAESP National Distinguished Middle School Principal of the Year (2011-2012) and the AMLE National Distinguished Educator of the Year (2012-2013). His leadership helped Lee to gain Georgia Lighthouse School to Watch designation in 2012. DSC-0016 Coweta County Middle Schools Trophy of Excellence Award First Row: Michelle Hanners, Becky Bush, Renee Ratcliff, Dr. Bob Heaberlin, Marnie Stephens, Bonnie Krider, Lisa Redmon, and Suzanne Brooks Second Row: Dr. Letitia Crosby, Mallory Berry, Tim Johnson, Adam Daigler, Rusty Wilson, Brad Willems, Patrick Harris, Jeff Bouchard, Robert Doyal, and Dr. Cindy Bennett Coweta County Middle Schools Trophy of Excellence Winners For the fourth consecutive year The Lee Middle School captured the Coweta County Middle School Trophy of Excellence. The award is based on a point system for each athletic competition and academic bowl competition. The Lee Timberwolves captured three of the eight CCMSAL championships this season. Lee captured CCMSAL titles in volleyball (three years in a row), girls soccer, and boys track and field. The Wolves were also the CCMSAL runner ups in boys soccer and girls track and field. Lee won regular season titles in volleyball, girls soccer, and the CCMSAL East Boys Track and Field Meet. The girls basketball team made the semi-finals of the CCMSAL tournament. The academic bowl team placed third in the West Georgia RESA competition and was the Coweta County Middle School champions. Robert Doyal was the volleyball coach.the soccer coaches were Brad Willems and Becky Bush. Coaching girls basketball was Mallory Berry and the boys were coached by Pat Harris. The football staff consisted of Adam Daigler, Jeff Bouchard, and Harris (head coach). Lisa Redmon and Harris (head coach) coached the boys track team while Bouchard and Bush (head coach) coached the girls track team. The academic bowl team was coached by Suzanne Brooks and Lisa Redmon. Marnie Stephens was the pep squad coach. 7 7
