1. Company overview Product overview MATRIX provides a beautiful, simple, powerful LMS for businesses. The company is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2010, by Graham Glass, the CEO of MATRIX and a serial entrepreneur with a track record of innovation. Graham founded two professional training companies, and used to teach Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas, so deep familiarity with the features that instructors and students need is in our company DNA. Graham is also the CEO of NEO, MATRIX s sister company, which provides a similar product for use by schools and universities. MATRIX and NEO are used by over 20,000 organizations around the world (we support 20+ languages), have over a million users, add about 15,000 new users a week, and are both profitable without any need for external investment. 3

MATRIX is used by businesses ranging from large companies such as Disney, the famous culinary company Le Cordon Bleu, to small companies that sell online fashion courses. NEO is used by organizations ranging from large universities such as De La Salle, school districts such as Santa Barbara, to small schools with just a few students. Our vision is that training and learning will evolve rapidly thanks to the amplifying power of technology, and that systems of the future will adapt to an individual's learning profile and allow them to study at their own pace. Our mission is to offer a world-class innovative LMS that supports our vision, and to make our product available to anyone by providing affordable premium versions. Awards MATRIX was chosen as one of the finalists for the Best of Elearning! Awards 2014 in the category "Best Learning Management System (Cloud/SaaS)". Readers and professionals from both the private and public sector cast more than 3,000 nominations for the best 27 product categories 4

2. Why customers select us Product overview The main reasons that customers select MATRIX as their business LMS are: 1. An unusually beautiful, modern user interface that works on all mobile devices; 2. A comprehensive, easy-to-use and powerful feature set that is constantly improving; 3. Great value: our plans are significantly less than our closest competitors; 4. Friendly, professional support staff. 3. Some distinguishing features MATRIX provides the range of functionality you'd expect in a modern, state of the art LMS and it s great for companies that need a powerful, yet simple LMS to provide their employees and customers with the best e-learning content and/or generate revenue by selling their courses. Tour of features MATRIX has a very comprehensive set of features, many of which can be enabled or disabled to suit companies different needs. Here is an overview of some of the main areas: Integrations and Standards MATRIX integrates with a wide variety of systems, including Google Docs, Google Apps, Calendars (ical), TurnItIn, Paypal, Stripe, and Authorize.net. We support industry standards such as SCORM, Common Cartridge Format, LTI, QTI, LDAP, and SMTP/POP3. 6

Courses We offer support for instructor-led, blended, and self-paced courses. You can display your current courses via a pop-up menu, with shortcuts to the gradebook. You can teach multiple sections of a course, and use our unique course sync feature to pushes changes from the master copy of a course to the others. Save courses into the library as templates for reuse. We also offer support for co-teachers and time-based student deactivation. Students can be enrolled via file import, the student roster, email, people picker, SIS integration, API, or you can enable self-enrolment via access codes. Content authoring and navigation Our content authoring tools allow you to create rich, engaging modules without any technical knowledge. Upload and embed any type of media, including audio, video, office documents, and Google Docs. 7

You can reorder your modules and their sections using drag and drop, and go through sections in a module using our simple built-in navigation. You can track module progress and time spent in each module using the dashboard and rich analytics. Course catalog You can organize courses into a text-based or graphical catalog. Group courses by category, and order courses alphabetically, or using drag and drop. You can associate pictures and optional descriptions with each category, and you can publish the catalog to your portal for access by visitors. If e-commerce is enabled, you can sell courses directly from the catalog. 8

E-Commerce Associate a course with a price, then allow students to browse courses in the course catalog and purchase them using a credit card or PayPal. You can track e-commerce activity in your administration dashboard. Our shopping cart supports multiple discount codes and multiple currencies, with Authorize.net, PayPal, or Stripe as the payment gateways. Customizable Our LMS is highly customizable, with options for configuring your logo, URL, portal pictures, and menu structure. You can even customize the site terminology and use our built-in color picker to create your own color scheme. We also support custom CSS and custom HTML for deep web customization. 9

Analytics and Reporting Product overview Create reports and charts of interesting data such as assignment grades, module progress, proficiency coverage, missing work, student activity, course status, completion status, and resource usage. This data is also available via our API for use by third-party reporting packages. Collaboration tools Our LMS has built-in support for wikis, blogs, chat rooms, groups, and forums. These collaboration tools can be used privately in a course or within a group whose members span course. Instructors can enable or disable these options on a per-course basis. Our chat room transcripts are persistent so you can reference a conversation at a later time. 10

Curricula and Proficiencies Create your own curricula using our curriculum builder, or use the preloaded US common core standards. You can share the curricula using our resources library, align content and assessments with proficiencies in a curriculum, then view a coverage analysis to see how well your course covers the curriculum. You can track student progress on a proficiency basis and get a detailed view of how students are understanding the concepts 11

Mobile access Our user interface is 100% responsive so it looks great on all devices. In addition, we have native apps that are downloadable from the Apple Store (iphone, ipad) and the Google Play store (Android). 12

Assessment There are ten different kinds of assignments - quizzes, freeform, survey, offline, debate, dropbox, discussion, team, SCORM, and TurnItIn. You can specify the maximum number of submissions and whether late submissions are allowed, with overrides on a per-student basis. We have in-place grading for rapid turnaround, and a broad selection of grading evaluating options, including nested grading periods, categories, and extra credit assignments. Gradebook Our gradebook is fully-featured and high-performance with fill, import, and undo options. It has a full-screen mode and configurable display options, including ordering of students and assignments. The gradebook includes pop-up analytics, where you can see the progress of students through the assignments. You can also export grades via a CSV file, a XLS file, or API. 13
