Rocky's Reading Challenge Completed Rocky's Reading Challenge bookmarks are due to your teacher or Mrs. Faulkner by tomorrow, Monday, March 12th. Students who turn in a bookmark will receive 2 free tickets to a predetermined Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball game! Pre-K to 1st grade students are to read, or have you read to them, 5 books. Students in 2nd-5th grade have the option of reading 5 books or 1 or 2 chapter books (depending on the length of the chapter book). YEARBOOK Information: This is the LAST CALL for Patron Ads and 5th Grade baby pictures for this year s edition of the LES Yearbook! Add a Way To Go message to any LES student for $3.00. 5th grade baby pictures (non copyrighted) to be included in the yearbook are just $3.00 as well! Yearbooks are on sale NOW through Thursday, March 29th for just $16.00! Be sure to guarantee your yearbook by pre-ordering one by the end of March. Left over books will be available on a " rst come, rst served" basis in the spring! Don't wait- get yours TODAY! Team Leeds is ready to spring into action once again... Unfortunately, another one of our Leeds' families is dealing with the devastation of re. The Pizzuli/Poore family has 5 children, ranging in ages 4-11. Leeds will be hosting a bubblegum/mint fundraiser on Friday, March 16. Students will be able to purchase and enjoy either 2 pieces of bubble gum or 4 sugar-free mints on this day for $1. More information will come home with students for pre-sale treats tomorrow, although there will be some for sale the day of- while supplies last. Not interested in the sweet treat? We are accepting straight donations as well:-) Thank you, again, as we come together to support one of our families! Leeds is a great community- and together we can do so much!

Grade 5: MISA Testing Students in grades 5, 8, and high school will shortly participate in MISA (Maryland Integrated Science Assessment). MISA will provide students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge pertaining to the Next Generation Science Standards. Testing will take place on March 15, 16, 19, and 20. Good luck, 5th graders! INTRODUCING PAW PALS after school program for 5th graders! We are super excited to introduce you to a new after-school opportunity for our 5th grade students to support the community! Ms. Q applied for and received a BEPAC grant to have students volunteer time at Cecil County Animal Services. An informational meeting for parents and students will be held this Thursday, March 15th, at 5:30 at Leeds. If you are unable to attend but would still like information, please contact Ms. Q at jfquattrochi@ccps.org or 410-996-5070. Thank you to our families who attended Grade 5 and PreK Leeds University sessions! Check out dates for our other sessions listed below: It is time for our spring sessions of LEEDS UNIVERSITY! As a component of our School Improvement Plan, each grade level will host another round of Leeds University! These are opportunities to hear about upcoming units, ways to support your children, strategies you can deliver at home, or other important information speci c to your child's grade level- or helpful hints for the next year! All sessions run from 8:15-8:45, and students are welcome to attend along with you. Please be on the look-out for iers to RSVP as light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you at Leeds U! Destination Imagination CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Graev and her Destination Imagination Team as they earned 2nd place at this past weekend's Regional Tournament! They will now prepare to compete at State Level on April 7th. SCIENCE FAIR UPDATES: The STEM Fair will be held on Thursday, May 10th. We have 47 entries this year! These include investigations and engineering projects from 1st through 5th grade students. We are looking forward to seeing our students hard work! Needed- STEM Fair Judges! Are you able to support this year s STEM Fair by helping to judge entries? Judging will take place on Thursday, May 10th between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. Food Distribution In need of extra food after the holiday spending? Our friends at Bay View and North East Elementary are continuing their FOOD DISTRIBUTION DAYS and we are all welcome! Door open at 4:00 and remain open until 5:30, or while supplies last. Identi cation is not required and all

All events are free and include dinner from Olive Garden for all who attend. Sessions are interactive and fast paced. Child-care is provided and transportation can be arranged with 48 hours notice.
