NO. 03/2013-14 DATED 31.05.2013 REQUIREMENT OF guest TEACHERS IN THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENT / CENTRES Application on prescribed application forms are invited for engagement of guest teachers in the various Departments / Centers, JMI @ Rs. 1000/- per period subject to maximum of Rs. 25,000/- per month, so as to reach the application in the respective Department/Centers latest by 17.06.2013 during working days between 10:00 A.M to 01:00 P.M. (Friday upto 12:00 Noon): A - FACULTY OF ENGG. & TECHNOLOGY 1. Department of Computer Engineering Three guest teachers (against vacant posts) 2. Department of Civil Engineering Eight guest teachers (against vacant positions and leave vacancies) 3. Department of Mechanical Engineering Three guest teachers (against vacant post) 4. A Master s Degree in Science / Humanities / Arts with 50% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); 2. M. Ed. With at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); and Government, from time to time for the positions of principal and lecturers, shall be mandatory; OR 1. M. A. in Education with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); 2. B. Ed. with at least 55% (marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); and Government, from time to time for the positions of principal and lecturers, shall be mandatory. (b) Methodology Courses 1. A Master s Degree in subject with 50% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); 2. M. Ed. Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); and Government, from time to time for the position of principal and lecturers, shall be mandatory. Qualification as per UGC norms for Science and Humanities disciplines 1. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks Master s Degree level in a relevant in a subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent 2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National 3. Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the 4. One Resource Person (Instructor Music) Qualification for Sr. No. i to vii (a) Foundation Courses 1. A Master s Degree in Science / Humanities / Arts with 50% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); 2. M. Ed. With at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); and Government, from time to time for the positions of principal and lecturers, shall be mandatory; OR 1. Qualification for Sr. No. viii: i. A Master s Degree in Physical Education with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); and ii. Any other stipulation prescribed by the UGC / such other affiliating body / State Government, from time to time for the positions of Principal and lecturers, shall be mandatory. Qualification for Sr. No. ix: OR 1. Professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject. Who should have: i. First Class Diploma in Visual (Fine ) arts discipline from the recognized institution of India/Abroad; ii. Five years experience of holding regular Regional / National exhibitions/workshops with evidence, and iii. Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustration in that discipline. Qualification for Sr. No. x: M.A. with at least 50% marks & & B.Ed with relevant craft or M.A. with at least 50% marks & 1 year Diploma in relevant craft.

Qualification for Sr. No. xi: Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master s Degree level, in the relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian/Foreign University. OR 1. Master degree plus a traditional and a professional artist with commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject, who should have: i. Studied under noted/reputed traditional masters and has through knowledge to explain the subject concerned; ii. A artist of AIR/TV. C - FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCE (1) Department of Physics One guest teacher (against vacant position) (2) Department of Biotechnology Fourteen guest teachers for teaching of the following disciplines (against excessive teaching work-load): i. Maths with Computers (2) 3 guest teachers with M.A. Economics with specialization in Environment/Maths. or Statistics. 2. Department of Commerce & Business Studies Four guest teachers (one against vacant post of Professor and other against excessive teaching work-load) Specialization:(i)-Business Maths & Statistics (ii)- Business/Managerial Economics (iii) - Information Technology and Post (iv)- Income Tax & Auditing. Qualification for the above posts (E-1 & 2) F - FACULTY OF LAW Three guest teachers for teaching of Law papers (against vacant positions) i. One guest teacher ( for teaching of Jurisprudence-II, Semester-V) ii. One guest teacher (for teaching of Legal Method, Legal & Constitutional History Semester-III) iii. One guest teacher (for teaching of Criminology & other, LL.M.-I-Semester)

G - Qualification for the above posts (as per UGC norms) for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted FACULTY OF FINE ARTS (1) Department of Art History & Art Appreciation Two guest teachers (against excessive teaching work-load) (2) Department of Graphics Art (Print Making) Two guest teachers (against vacant positions) Qualification for the above posts (as per UGC norms) for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted H - OTHER CENTRES 1. Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences Two guest teachers (against vacant position) Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy (B.P/T/B.Th. /BN.P.Th.), Master s in physiotherapy with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system in followed) from recognized university. Specialization: (i) Sports with two to three years experience (ii) CBR/ rehabilitation, with two to three years teaching experience.

2. Centre for European & Latin American Studies Four guest teachers (two against vacant positions and three against specialized Courses / excessive teaching work-load) i. One guest teacher (for teaching of French) ii. One guest teacher (for teaching of Portuguese) iii. One guest teacher (for teaching of Italian) iv. One guest teacher (for teaching of Russian) Specialization: In Italian-MA in Italian (as NET is not there) In Portuguese- MA in any discipline with an Advance Diploma in Portuguese. Qualification for the above positions Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. 3. Department of Tourism, Hotel, Hospitality and Heritage Studies One guest teacher (for vacant position) Specialization: CRS/Hotel Management 4. Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace & Conflict Resolution Three guest teachers (for vacant positions) i. One guest teacher (for teaching of State, Citizenship and Governance) ii. One guest teacher (for teaching of Multilateral Institutions and Conflict Resolution) iii. One guest teacher (for teaching of International Humanitarian Law) 5. Centre for the study of Comparative religions and Civilization Three guest teachers for M.Phil. Programme (against excessive teaching work-load) i. One guest teacher (for teaching of Hinduism) ii. One guest teacher (for teaching of Arabic) iii. One guest teacher (for teaching of Sanskrit) Qualification for the above Sr.No. 3 to 5 (as per UGC norms) ii. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines

Note: A: 1. Applicants are requested to kindly submit the prescribed Application Form in the respective Departments/Centres. 2. The Department /Centres will screen the application of the candidates and will call for interview accordingly. 3. The engagement of the guest teachers will be w.e.f the date of taking classes for the Academic Session 2013-14 or till vacancy exits or till further orders whicheves is earlier on the UGC approved rate of honorarium @ 1000/- per period subject to maximum of Rs. 25,000/- per month Note: B: 1. Selection against vacancy shall not confer on the appointee any right of permanent appointment/regularization. 2. (a) The Jamia reserves the right to evolve a uniform and reasonable criterion for short-listing of eligible candidates, if needed. 3. (b) Jamia also reserves right to give preference to those who possess higher qualifications. 4. Candidate must enclose the attested copies of degrees, diplomas and mark-sheets etc. giving reference of experience/published work with application form. 5. Incomplete application or application on plain paper will not be entertained and is liable to be rejected. 6. Relaxation, if any, shall be as per the UGC guidelines and other regulatory bodies. 7. The Number of positions advertized herein are provisional and may vary. 8. Candidate already in service must apply through proper channel. 9. Knowledge of Urdu and Hindi is a desirable qualification for all teaching posts. 10. The candidates, who have already applied in response to any previous advertisement(s), shall have to apply afresh. 11. The University reserves the right to hold/not to hold Selection Committee for any or all of the post (s). 12. Canvassing, in any form or on behalf of the candidate will be a disqualification. 13. There will no fee for filling up the application form for the above positions.
