Department: Kairos Reports To: Kairos Pastor FLSA Status: Non Exempt Effective Date: 07/01/2016 Brentwood Baptist Church Job Description Kairos Connection Coordinator SUMMARY The Kairos Connection Coordinator is responsible to the church under direction of the Kairos Pastor for planning events, raising up and equipping leaders and volunteers in the areas of guest services, special events and mission opportunities to help move people into deeper involvement in the Kairos community. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following: KAIROS GENERAL Coordinate communication between Kairos volunteer teams, guest services, worship team, and staff weekly changes to Kairos worship set up/tear down Equip leaders and volunteers in determining their ministry plans using PLACE and other tools Assessment and implementation of weekly promotional pieces needed for sermons and events through handouts, slides, and communications requests via the communications teams Work with media and graphics teams to maintain current information on the Kairos website Coordinate and supply updated Kairos promotional information throughout the church building (welcome desks, etc.) on a consistent basis Collect and disperse Prayer Cards as collected weekly and relay prayer requests to Kairos Prayer Team and Kairos Pastor GUEST SERVICES Oversee Kairos Guest Services ministry: o Identify, raise up, and equip leaders for guest services including but not limited to greeter and hospitality teams o Assist in the process of connecting Kairos attendees to volunteer opportunities o Guest/visitor follow up o Respond to attendee feedback received by email, mail, and social media

o Personally respond to all requests that come through info@kairosnashville.com, which includes forwarding emails to appropriate areas of ministry (i.e. discipleship/small groups, missions) Work with the Kairos Pastor developing a vision and strategy for a Kairos membership pathway: o Coordinate with Brentwood Baptist Assimilation Minister and PLACE Coordinator to create a customizable membership process for Kairos SOCIAL MEDIA Oversee and implement all social media platforms and strategies: o Develop standards for appearance and times of posts to effectively reach targeted audience o Continue to evaluate changing trends and platforms for social media o Identify, raise up, and equip leaders who can use their gifts and talents to serve Kairos through photography, creative ideas, and strategic social media implementation EVENTS Coordinate mission opportunities for Kairos attendees: o Work in conjunction with the Kairos Pastor in developing and maintaining local ministry partnerships for Kairos attendees o Work in conjunction with the Brentwood Baptist Missions Pastor to coordinate local and international mission opportunities for Kairos attendees o Identify, recruit, raise up and equip leaders from within Kairos to lead local mission opportunities including but not limited to: Red Cross, TN Baptist Children s Home, Room In The Inn, Young Life Capernaum, Brentwood Baptist Children s Ministry Coordinate fellowship and outreach opportunities for Kairos attendees: o Coordinate current fellowship events including but not limited to Girls Night Out, Guys Night Out, and Kairos After Hours o Receive and reply as needed to phone calls and emails about Kairos events, local opportunities and promotions o Work with other staff members and serve as a liaison across departmental lines to coordinate weekly activities and needs for Kairos o Coordinate Kairos Coffee & Conversation OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following: Participate in staff meetings as required by the department Complete other duties as assigned by Kairos Pastor Continue self-development in the areas of personality, spiritual gifts, abilities, passions and life experiences as they relate to God s word QUALIFICATIONS A strong Christ-follower who can identify closely with the mission, vision, values and priorities of Kairos A willingness to be a team player

The ability to identify, train, lead and care for a group of leaders or volunteers Must be detail oriented Ability to communicate and give direction Have strong written & verbal communication skills as this position will represent Kairos in a variety of professional settings Must meet BBC benchmark for computer competency EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Demonstrates an existing commitment or involvement in the local church Preferred Bachelor s degree from four-year college or university Minimum of two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred prior related ministry experience with college-aged or young adults and/or coordinating ministry events and mission opportunities

POSITION PROFILE KAIROS CONNECTION COORDINATOR Brentwood Baptist Church Brentwood, TN OVERVIEW Brentwood Baptist Church is a large, dynamic, and growing Southern Baptist Church with a wellestablished history of changing lives for Christ throughout the greater Nashville, Tennessee area as well as around the world. Today, with a global influence, multiple campuses, and a compelling vision, Brentwood Baptist is poised for an ongoing and exciting future full of hope for serving Christ and expanding His Kingdom in more powerful ways. Brentwood Baptist Church exists to connect people to Jesus Christ through worship, discipleship, and service. Kairos is an urban ministry that serves as an honest and unique attempt to help college students and young adults love God and connect with each other. Blessed with its own uniquely designed facility, Kairos seeks not only to grow and equip its attendees, but also to serve as a spiritual reference point for young adults in Middle Tennessee and as a resource for similar ministries across the United States. Further, Kairos is uniquely positioned to strategically bridge the Brentwood Baptist congregation to the emerging generations of young adults. THE POSITION The Kairos Connection Coordinator is responsible to the church, under direction of the Kairos Pastor for planning events, raising up and equipping leaders and volunteers in the areas of guest services, special events and mission opportunities in order to help move people into deeper involvement in the Kairos community. The Kairos Connection Coordinator will also work in conjunction with Brentwood Baptist s Missions ministry to coordinate local and international missions opportunities for Kairos attendees. Based on current trends, the Kairos Connection Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing and implementing all social media platforms and strategies. Since the Kairos Connection Coordinator must be able to identify, raise up, and equip leaders of various volunteer teams, this position requires highly developed skills in communication, planning, relationships, management, supervision and people development.

QUALIFICATIONS The foremost requirement for this role is that of a Christ centered life. The successful candidate will have a deep and ever-growing relationship with God as evidenced by daily habits, practices and disciplines of spending time with Him and His Word, observable fruits of the spirit, active involvement in the leadership of a church, and a commitment to maintaining healthy accountability relationships with a small number of mature believers. A strong sense of calling will be evident as well. Viable candidates must give evidence of the ability to lead, appropriately confront and hold accountable individuals, groups and teams that produce measurable results against predetermined goals and objectives. A gift and strengths based, participative, collaborative and team-oriented culture are highly held values at Brentwood Baptist Church and Kairos, therefore the Kairos Connection Coordinator must be characterized by these same values. This role calls for someone with substantive relational and implementing strengths. Thus this person must be someone who can accomplish agreed upon results through people by deeply valuing people and relating well to those of all ages and levels of spiritual maturity. It is essential they have well developed interpersonal relationship skills and social intelligence. Furthermore, the Connection Coordinator will represent Kairos in a variety of professional settings and must be known as an exceptional communicator, with strong written and verbal communication skills. A Bachelor s level degree is a preferred requirement with a minimum of two years prior related ministry experience working with young adults and/or coordinating ministry events and mission opportunities. Finally, the Connection Coordinator must be able to take initiative and lead and encourage others. PERSONALITY, GIFTS, ABILITIES AND STRENGTHS FOR THE POSITION OF KAIROS CONNECTION COORDINATOR Personality: Using the DISC personality Model, we anticipate this person would exhibit traits primarily associated with the I/D or D/I/S blends. Leaders with these temperament types accomplish goals through others, strive to inspire and equip, and emphasize relationships. Using Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the ENFJ style would be ideal, as this style demonstrates an ability to lead others by recognizing their giftedness and developing their potential. This style has a talent for executing tasks and meeting the logistical requirements of a given role. They will thrive on organizing teams and initiatives which contribute to the personal growth of their organization. Spiritual Gifts: Using the PLACE Assessment tool we will look for a combination of equipping and support gifts with the presence of Administration, Hospitality, Leadership and Encouragement. Other desirable gifts might include Mercy and Teaching.

Abilities: Using the PLACE assessment tool we should look for Social, Conventional and Enterprising abilities. Passions: Using the PLACE assessment tool we should look for a demonstrated passion of Leading, Developing/Creating, and Defending. Managing and Delegating would also be positive passions in this role. Felt passions would ideally include Missions and Ministry to Young Adults. Strengths: Using the StrengthFinders assessment tool we should be looking for one or more of the strengths in the following combinations: Activator, Maximizer, Responsivity, Achiever, Relator.
