ABOUT INSTITUTE OF LAW Institute of Law was set up under the aegis of Nirma University in the year 007 with a mission to promote excellence in the field of legal education and to fulfil the ever increasing demand of quality legal professionals for a growing legal world. In a short span of time this Institute has accomplished and continues to expand its horizon. We follow an approach to legal education wherein learning experience is not only enlightening but also enriching and inspiring. Institute of Law is committed to exploring multidisciplinary approaches and revolutionizing legal education by adapting to the changing world in which law practitioners operate. During the five years that students spend on the campus, they are nourished by the critical learning pedagogy, and mentored and supported by faculty and staff so that they have the best experience possible to be successful in life. The Institute today boasts of faculty whose expertise spans across various areas of law and who have a wide range of teaching and research experience. We attract students from diverse cultural background and perspectives. This leads to a vibrant multicultural classroom wherein established theory and new critical questions are put into a dialogue. Institute of Law has an unmatched array of courses and academic offerings. About CPGLS The institute of Law offers undergraduate programmes of B.A.,LL.B. (Hons) B.Com.,LL.B.(Hons)., the post graduate programme and Doctoral Programme in Law. The Institute started postgraduate Programme of LL. M. in 011. Since 013, the institute has been offering one year LL.M. Programme under the auspices of the Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS) which was established in 013 under the auspices of Nirma University. The Centre comprises of highly experienced and qualified faculty, committed to provide top-notch and valuable legal education to the students. It aims at providing qualitative and skill based education to the budding professionals. BRIEF ABOUT THE PROGRAM CURRICULUM The Center for Post Graduate legal studies offers one year LL. M. Programme in two different area i.e [1]Constitutional and Administrative Law and [] Criminal and Security Law. The curriculum of each programme is designed to cater the needs of the legal profession and to meet with the professional challenges in a globalized world. It aims at providing competency to the students to practice law in a competitive field by constant advancement of the curriculum in consonance with the latest developments in law and in reference to contemporary issues. The dynamic teaching pedagogy, careful selection of course content, practical training through seminars, experiential learnings and exposure to teaching learning processes of the Programme provide opportunities to the students to prepare themselves for the professional life. Innovative, dynamic curriculum, befitting the current needs of the profession, industry and academia. Innovative teaching pedagogy aiming at holistic development of the students through experiential learning. Stipend to the meritorious students according to ILNU scholarship Policy. INTAKE LL.M (One Year Programme), Number of seats = 0 LL.M. (Criminal and Security Law) LL.M. (Constitutional and Administrative Law) 10 seats 10 seats Hostel facility is available at campus for PG students. ELIGIBILITY A candidate should have successfully passed, three years LL.B. programme after graduation or five years Integrated Law Degree Programme as recognized by the Bar Council of India with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Those who have appeared in aforementioned exam and the result is awaited can apply for this programme. However, admission will be subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria at the time of admission. 4
ADMISSION PROCEDURE Admission Criteria: a. PG CLAT Score (Inter se Rank)[preferred] Or All India PG ILNU Entrance Test : 70 % b. Publications : 10 % c. Work Experience : 10 % d. Statement of purpose : 10 % Total : 100 % The preference will be given to the candidates who have appeared in the PG-CLAT, 018. However subject to the availability of the seats, non PG-CLAT candidates may be given admission on the basis of All India PG ILNU Entrance Test. The date and syllabus of All India PG ILNU Entrance Test will be notified on our website. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Mode of Application: There is only one mode of application, i.e., ONLINE. The online application can be accessed by a candidate by registering self by creating a LOGIN ACCOUNT. Only those candidates who fulfill the above eligibility criteria can apply as the software will automatically reject the ineligible application. Therefore, please read carefully the guidelines before filling-up the application. INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES - Classrooms Air conditioned classrooms are well equipped with modern audio visual equipment to facilitate effective learning. The class rooms are designed to promote maximum interaction between faculty and the students - Smart class room Smart Class Room is where social learning of students is enhanced and mobile and blended learning is promoted while facilitating virtual sessions. Cyber lab The Central computing facility is interconnected by fiber optic cables with leased line internet connectivity. The internet and intranet facilities are available on the campus. Learners and Faculty Members are connected with google group to ease the teaching learning process. Other amenities Transport facility is provided to students from their residence to the Institute and back. For this, the University has its own fleet of buses with pre-decided routes. Banking facility A branch of Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank Ltd for the benefit of the students and staff members has been provided on the university campus Sports grounds for Cricket, Volleyball and Football are available on the campus. Students can also play indoor games such as table tennis, chess, carom etc. The Annual Sports Day is a regular feature. Gymnasium with modern equipment is in place for both, the students and the staff. Students store where one can find all essential stationery. Canteens and cafeterias having a range of delicious, hygienic and healthy choices. Yoga Hall where regular sessions of Yoga are conducted.
