D2017/14056 Higher School Certificate Supervisor of Marking Application Package Position details The Supervisor of Marking is responsible for undertaking the duties associated with the preparation for and marking of the Higher School Certificate examinations. The position is responsible to the Director, Examinations for the accurate and timely marking of all scripts in accordance with principles, standards and procedures established by the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) and the marking plan approved by the Director, Examinations. Applicants should refer to the detailed roles and responsibilities statement included in this package. Experience Required Applicants must have a thorough understanding of marking gained through experience as a senior marker or senior judge in the subject/course as well as extensive experience in teaching the subject/course. Experience as a member of an examination or curriculum committee, or syllabus team is also of benefit. Successful applicants must also have leadership experience and be able to demonstrate that they have the capacity to manage a HSC marking operation efficiently and effectively. Period of appointment Appointment as a Supervisor of Marking is an annual appointment. Supervisors of Marking may be reappointed to the position in subsequent years, up to a maximum of five years.
