An application fee is required to successfully submit your Cal State Apply application, and can be paid by credit card or Paypal. The application fee is nonrefundable, even if you later withdraw your application or if you are not admitted into the university or the I/O program. Also, the fee cannot be used for any term other than the one on the submitted application. After you've received your SJSU ID# from the GAPE office, submit the materials in steps 3-5 below no later than February 20th to this address: Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluations (GAPE) San Jose, CA 95192-0017 3. Official transcripts of relevant college academic work. You must submit official transcripts from institutions attended, including those from which you did not complete a degree program. All transcripts must be sealed and unopened in order to be accepted as official documents. If you are currently enrolled and have not yet received an undergraduate degree, submit your most recent transcript; if you are admitted into the I/O program, you must later submit a final transcript to GAPE that displays your posted degree to avoid delays in the admissions and enrollment process. If you took coursework and/or earned a degree outside of the U.S., you must submit transcripts to WES (World Education Services) (http://www.wes.org/students/index.asp). This does not apply to students who completed coursework as part of a study abroad program while earning a degree in the U.S. (see http://www.sjsu.edu/graduateadmissions/want-to-apply/domestic-steps-to-admission/ for more details). If you received your undergraduate degree at an institution outside of the U.S., you may need to submit a test of English TOEFL score if the primary language of instruction was not English - see step (C) below for more information. 4. California residency questionnaire and supporting documents (optional). All students intending to pay resident tuition must provide documentation of physical presence and intent to remain in California at least one full year prior to the Residence Determination Date for the applied term. Please submit the Residency Questionnaire (http://www.sjsu.edu/graduateadmissions/want-toapply/domestic-steps-to-admission/csu-residence-questionnaire%205%202018.pdf); for additional residency information, go to http://www.sjsu.edu/registrar/students/residency/index.html. 5. Legal Presence (non-citizens only). If you are not a U.S. citizen, the GAPE office will inform you, through your MySJSU To-Do list, which official documents you may need to provide to the university (e.g., a copy of your current H4 or H1 visa or green card). For more information, see http://www.sjsu.edu/graduateadmissions/want-to-apply/domestic-steps-to-admission/.
NOTE: Although the deadline for submitting your GAPE application (February 20th) is after the deadline for submitting your application to the Psychology Department (February 1st), your application to the I/O program will not be evaluated until your GAPE application is complete and referred to the Psychology Department. As this processing may take 2-3 weeks, it is in your best interest to submit your supporting materials to GAPE as soon after February 1st as possible. (C) (International applicants only) After you've received your SJSU ID# from the GAPE office, submit the following materials as part of your GAPE application: In addition to the materials listed above, international applicants must also submit the following materials to the GAPE office (for more information, please see International Steps to Admission at http://www.sjsu.edu/graduateadmissions/want-to-apply/international-steps-to-admission/index.html): 1. To all applicants: * * * * * Please remember it is your responsibility to gather your application materials and submit them to the Psychology Department and GAPE by the stated deadlines. After the stated deadlines have passed, you ll receive an email confirming your application to Psychology Department has been received and whether it is complete. In terms of your GAPE application, after you've submitted all of the required materials, please check your To Do list frequently to insure your application status is Complete and has been Referred to the Psychology Department (allow 3 weeks after all materials have been submitted) - contact GAPE in case of any delays in the processing of your application (http://www.sjsu.edu/gape/about_us/staff/). If you believe GAPE has not received your transcripts even though your Psychology Department application has been received and is complete, do not order new transcripts to be sent to GAPE - instead, first contact the Psychology Department at i-o-psychology@sjsu.edu so we may assist you. Applicants meeting the minimum requirements will be evaluated and selected on the basis of their application materials (please see the M.S. I/O Program Brochure for more information). Unfortunately, due to a limited number of available spaces, not all students meeting the minimum requirements can be selected. We expect to begin notifying applicants of their application status by the middle of March. Thank you again for your interest in I/O psychology and the I/O program at San Jose State. We wish you the very best in your academic and professional pursuits.
