With more than 60 organizations to join and countless traditions and events to be a part of, you can make your mark on campus and the community while having fun! Pink Panthers vs. Red Devils: Did you know? Students who graduate on odd years are called Red Devils, while even-year graduates are Pink Panthers. Since 1974, this friendly rivalry between Pink Panthers and Red Devils is another way to show your Converse pride. 1889 Week 1889 Week: To commemorate Converse College s first academic term in 1889, we celebrate with a week of friendly competition and school spirit. Classes band together to compete for the coveted 1889 Spirit Cup! May Day: Every spring, students nominate peers who excel in scholarship, leadership, service and character for May Court. This long-standing tradition has evolved to become a meaningful celebration of Converse women whose lives exemplify the core values we hold dear. May Day Converse Ring Ceremony: During the Spring celebration, upperclass students are presented with their class ring by the president of the college. GREAT SCHOOL, GREAT PRICE Rated a Best Value in the South SCHOLARSHIPS OUT OF STATE Students who reside outside of South Carolina and who have a 1000 SAT, equivalent ACT, or better will receive a $1000 scholarship. IN STATE South Carolina residents who meet the criteria for Life or Palmetto Fellows will receive a $1000 scholarship. 2016-2017 Tuition $ 17,000 Room and Board $ 10,300 $ 27,300* *Before financial aid and scholarships; subject to change ENDOWED ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS In addition to in-state or out-of-state awards, Endowed Academic Scholarships may be offered to students on their Letter of Admission. These awards range in value based on students academic profiles. CONVERSE SCHOLARS DAY Admitted students with strong academic profiles will be invited to attend these events. In addition to meeting top faculty and other Converse Scholars, participants may receive additional endowed academic scholarships in varying amounts, including full tuition and full comprehensive scholarships. These scholarships are awarded based on a faculty or staff interview as well as the student's merit, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. ATHLETIC Converse student athletes are eligible for athletic scholarships in each of our NCAA Division II sports and IHSA Equestrian. PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS Students interested in studying art, dance, music, musical theatre and theatre at Converse can complete an audition or portolio review to potentially qualify for talent scholarships in your area of study.

MOLDING LEADERS: LEADERSHIP CONVERSE Leadership Converse is a leadership program for rising high school junior and senior females, held at Converse each summer. At Leadership Converse, students are taught that leadership is a process where individuals or groups can work together to create positive, sustainable change for others.
