Syllabus Math 7A Course Overview Math 7 continues the work you began in Math 6. You will continue to develop your knowledge of variables and how they are used in equations. You will also be further developing your skills at working with integers, fractions, decimals, and ratios. It is important to continue to practice these skills since they can be difficult to master, but are very powerful tools once learned with fluency. Course Goals By the end of this course, you will be able to do the following: Apply problem-solving strategies to solve real-world problems with mathematics. Compute solutions to more complex equations, manipulating equations with multiple variables. Explain what an integer is and solve various types of operations with them. Manipulate problems with fractions and decimal numbers interchangeably. General Skills To participate in this course, you should be able to do the following: Complete basic operations with word processing software, such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Perform online research using various search engines. Use a calculator. For a complete list of general skills that are required for participation in online courses, refer to the Prerequisites section of the Plato Student Orientation document, found at the beginning of this course. Credit Value Math 7A is a 0.5-credit course. 1 2013 EDMENTUM, INC.
