THE BEST THAT I CAN BE JOB DESCRIPTION POST: KS2-3 Transition Teacher RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Headteacher (KS3) PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Key Stage 2-3 Transition Teacher will oversee the smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 8 for students whose prior learning and attainment are not initially suited to secondary education. This will be achieved through taking responsibility for teaching around 60% of the Year 7 curriculum, focussing on literacy, numeracy and Humanities with an identified group of students together as one class. DUTIES: The Teachers Pay and Conditions Document specifies the general professional duties of a teacher. Whilst every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post, each individual task undertaken may not be identified. PARTICULAR DUTIES: Under the overall direction of the Headteacher. TEACHING All teachers are expected to: Carry out duties of a school teacher as set out in the Pay and Conditions Document and subject to any amendments due to Government legislation. Uphold the academy s principles and policies which underpin good practice and the raising of standards.
Demonstrate a thorough and up to date knowledge of the teaching of your subject and take account of wider curriculum developments which are relevant to your work.
