There is a textbook on reserve at the Mahoney Library in Petaluma. Online Software: MyMathLab will be used for online homework assignments. You have the choice of doing homework from the textbook or from the MyMathLab online software. Choose ONE of these to do for the entire semester. If you already have an access code for this textbook, register at http://pearsonmylab.com/ for online homework. Please bookmark this page. The course code is schultz89778. If you can study using only an e-book, then you may buy the access code alone and do not need to purchase a hard copy of the textbook. Calculator: Calculators will not be permitted on quizzes or exams. Students may use calculators to check their work on homework assignments. Grading: Quizzes (9 @ 1% each) 9% A 90 Homework 11% 80 B < 90 Exams (5 @ 12% each) 60% 70 C < 80 Comprehensive Final Exam 20% 56 D < 70 100% F < 56 Attendance and Make-up Policy: Attendance is critical in this course. There are NO MAKE-UP EXAMS or QUIZZES. Your lowest exam score will be replaced by your final exam score and your two lowest quiz scores will be dropped. If you are absent, you are completely responsible for the material you missed. You must contact a classmate for any assignments, announcements or notes in the case of an absence. SRJC attendace policy is as follows: Students are expected to attend all sessions of the course in which they are enrolled. Any student with excessive absences may be dropped from the class. Homework: Homework must be done neatly and in PENCIL. I will grade the homework on completeness of assignment AND for correctness on some selected problems. I will not grade homework that is not legible or difficult to follow.
Late homework that is turned in at the next class meeting will receive half credit. No credit for homework turned in after that. If you are absent when there is homework due, you may scan it or take clear photos of it and email it to me on the day of you absence for full credit. After that, your homework is considered late. To maintain a respectful learning environment, please turn off all cell phones while in the classroom. All cell phones are to be off your desk during class.
