Excel Academy is a long cherished educational institution envisaged by the Archdiocese of Thrissur established by far-sighted visionary Mar Andrews Thazhath, Archbishop of Thrissur. COURSES OFFERED Courses for Junior school students 1(Classes 7, 8,9 and 10) This is to develop an aptitude in the student towards the forthcoming entrance examinations to premier institutes in India after their plus two classes. The pattern of study for these exams are quite different from the existing curriculum of Kerala. Most students in Kerala are trying this pattern only when they are in class 11 or 12. This will make their preparation very tedious. Only few students are getting admissions in JIPMER, AIIMS, IIT, NIT, IISER,NISER, BITS, Chennai Mathematical Institute, Central Universities, Civil Service etc. In the previous years, most seats in high rated educational institutions in India were bagged by the students from Delhi - Rajasthan - Maharashtra belt. This is only due to the fact that they are starting their orientation program from early classes. So, we are introducing such a methodology in Thrissur: starting the training from the seventh class itself. A systematic and intense study in six concurrent years starting from 7 th up to 12 th will yield a better result. These classes are intended for talented students and it will not affect their regular school studies. Depending upon their taste, student can either opt for Science or Humanities stream. This course will help him to qualify all the competitive examinations and scholarship examinations like NTSE, National Olympiad etc. 1. 2 (Classes Courses for Senior school students 11 and 12) The selection to most medical colleges in India is based on a single entrance examination, NEET. For premier institutes in engineering, the selection is based on different examinations, but with almost same syllabus. Those who wish to become a scientist or professor, have to join good institutes like IISER or central universities like Hyderabad, Pondicherry, Pune etc. which requires qualification from an All India entrance examination. For all these, the student must need an in deep analytical and problem oriented approach in each subject. The course designed by our institute is best fit for the preparation of all these entrance examinations. This is an apt course for a seriously studying student. Apart from the entrance training, we are conducting regular tuition for average students who are not able to take the huge burden of entrance examinations. 1. 3 Integrated schooling with 4 Mathematics tuition for entrance coaching Medical and Commerce students At present many students are struggling to cop up with school syllabus and entrance coaching. The main reason is the difference in the flow of lessons in entrance coaching centre and School. So we are coupling these two elements together to reduce the havoc of two separate pattern. For this our expert teachers will com to selected schools to teach entrance and school lessons in the school itself. The classes will be within the regular school time schedule. Course includes a quick review, model papers and practice tests. Our expert teachers will equip the student with short cuts and tips to crack the entrance examinations. Since the student is free from the havoc of school curriculum, they can make a quick review along with our trainers. This will set his mind to face a tough examination in an easy way. The design of curriculum is with many rehearsal tests. Crash course will help the student to prepare very well, with the support of our well trained teachers. 1. Crash entrance training for 12 th completed students waiting for the entrance immediately Class timing : Monday to Saturday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. Course duration : Class starts on the very next day after the completion of Plus two board examinations and it will extend up to the previous day of NEET/ Kerala entrance. Course Fee : Rs 15000 (including cost of text books, GST etc) Due to stress from school curriculum, some students may lag in the entrance examinations during the study span of class XI and Class XII. They can spend one full year in the academy for the repeater s course. This course will cover full theory portions of XI and XII with entrance questions in a serious and systematic approach. Admission Procedure Selection for the orientation and basic training programme is based on a common aptitude test conducting at various centers in February/March. For all other programs, the admission is on first come first serve basic. The admission starts on January 1. During the time of admission, student must pay the fees. The fee includes the GST and cost of materials. Eligible students will get fee concessions and Scholarships. In order to ensure the collaboration of parish community a portion of fee concession shall be provided by the sponsors of the parish. The continuation of fee concession in the next semester is based on marks in regular examinations, attendance and discipline. The top three students of each course will get full refund of the fee paid in each semester as scholarship. Extension Centres We have extension centre at different parts of Thrissur district.
