Page 2 Texas Lions Camp s Director of Development Provides an Update on Camp Former Wimberley Lion writing Spy Novels Many will remember Warren Terry who was a member of the Wimberley Lions Club. He is now working on his third spy novel. I particularly enjoyed The Exchange Student. It takes place in Spain, France, Cuba, Mexico, Wimberley, Austin, and San Antonio. Its fast paced and believable with enough intrigue. His books are available in Kindle format at Amazon for $2.99. Trish Wilson has been with the camp for over four years. She was extremely enthusiastic about the 63-year-old Texas camp for disabled children, that is free of charge for the campers. The 504 acre camp near Kerrville, offers sessions June 3 through August 4 for 200 campers each session that are physically disabled, are blind, deaf, mute, are burn survivors, are Down Syndrome children or are diabetic. The camp receives applications for counselor positions from all over the world, with only the very best being selected. Trish told the Lions about a blind and deaf child, who was able to climb the wall with the help of a counselor and ring the bell from the top. She also told the Lions about a camper with no shoulders, arms or hands that was able to hit a bull s eye with a bow and arrow. Another camper held the bow while he used his foot to pull back and shoot. Trish thanked the Wimberley Lions for having contributed over $82,000 over the past 43 years for the Texas Lions Camp.
