ASSESSMENT 2017-18 Class I to V Assessment is an integral part of the teaching and learning process. To ensure the effectiveness of student s educational experience, it is important that varied assessment techniques be used at regular intervals. Bloom School has defined the following objectives for assessment: 1. To provide quality feedback to students so as to ensure growth in learning of students. 2. To effectively guide students through the essential elements of learning: the acquisition of knowledge, the understanding of concepts, the mastering of skills. 3. To provide feedback to parents regarding students progress through grades. 4. To ensure that the assessment process is reliable and trustworthy. To achieve the above objective the Academic Session has been divided into four Quarters, First Quarter ( April to mid July),Second Quarter (mid July to September), Third Quarter ( October to December) and Fourth Quarter (Jan to March).The syllabus for each quarter is different. Syllabus for each Quarter will be 25% of the total syllabus covered. Class I to V will have four Quarterly Assessments. 1. First Quarter Exam (Q1) - July 2. Second Quarter Exam (Q2) - September 3. Third Quarter Exam (Q3) - December 4. Fourth Quarter Exam (Q4) - March Each Quarterly Assessment is of 25% weight age. The Quarterly Assessment in each subject will be out of 50 marks. (i) Written Exam 40 marks (ii) Subject Enrichment activities 10 marks

ASSESSMENT 2017-18 Class VI to VIII The Assessment in classes VI to VIII shall spread over two terms during Academic year. To increase the confidence in the students to start preparing for class X Board examination when they join the upper primary stage in class VI, the CBSE has decided to implement the uniform system of assessment, examination pattern and issue of report cards for classes VI to VIII also on the similar pattern. While keeping in view the provisions of Right to Education Act, 2009, the scheme for classes VI-VIII has been designed on Term Assessment basis with gradual increase in the learning assessment as the students move forward. This would prepare the students to cover the whole syllabus of the academic year and face the challenge of class X Board examination, and would thus, ensure the quality of education. To achieve the above objective the Academic Session has been divided into two terms, First term (April to September),Second term (October to March), TERM - I 1. - I (July Test) - 10 marks 2. CW/HW - 5 marks 3. Subject Enrichment activities - 5 marks 4. Term End Assessment (September Exam) - 80 marks TERM - II 1. II (December Test) - 10 marks 2. CW/HW - 5 marks 3. ASSESSMENT 2017-18 Class IX As you are aware, the CBSE has issued Circular No. Acad-05/2017 dated 31.01.2017 on the restoration of Board Examination for class X and revised assessment structure and examination for class X from Academic Year 2017-18 onwards. This new scheme will bring the uniformity in the system of assessment and examination for classes IX and X in all the CBSE affiliated schools. The Assessment structure for class IX (A) Internal Assessments (20 marks) 1. (10 marks weightage) There will be 3 periodic written assessments in the academic year in the month of July (pre midterm), September (midterm) and December (post midterm). The best of two will be taken. The syllabus for periodic assessments will be cumulative i.e. (i) Pre midterm (July test) - 25% syllabus (approx) (ii) Midterm (Sept Exam) - 50% syllabus (approx) (iii) Post midterm (Dec test) - 75% syllabus (approx) 2. Note book Submission (5 marks weightage) 1. Subject Enrichment Activities (5 marks weightage) (i) Maths - Lab activities and project prescribed by CBSE/NCERT (ii) Science - Practicals prescribed by CBSE in curriculum (iii) Social Science - Maps and Projects prescribed by CBSE in curriculum (iv) Languages- Activities to develop effective speaking and listening skills
